Bump for any
new experiences / thoughts?

I have the same as everyone else. Tomorrow I’ll remove the battery from the FOB and see if it continues. Phones are off but I don’t know the Fob distance.

I’ve caught my truck doing it twice now, though I find it suspicious that both times it blinked immediately after I opened the door to my garage (with my phone in my pocket).

Pretty sure it's PAAK still triggering some systems. I'm guessing when they disabled it for at home they put a bandaid on it by just disabling the locks, but not the other aspects associated with it. A quick chat with a service rep said they're aware of it as well.

Same behavior for me. But I have the added bonus of a defect with the automatic louvers behind the grille. When the truck goes into this “pre-flight” mode, it opens & closes these louvers. Mine sound like Dracula’s coffin opening/closing, so there’s that, too. Truck’s going in in a few weeks to fix that & other nits.

I noticed this flashing behavior as well yesterday when I was trying to track down exactly what is draining the battery so much when it's supposed to be asleep.

I had all Rivian phone apps force closed, truck locked, gear guard on, but set to exclude the house, and when I would go into the garage, I'd get a flash. I don't get any gear guard videos.

I can't imagine it's a Paak issue at that point since the phone wasn't part of the equation.

Mine does this every time I walk by with my phone after being away from the truck a while. It does not do this when I don’t have my phone with me. I don’t use the fob. I use PAAK and have proximity unlock set to “off at home”.

In addition to the aforementioned blinky lights and louver actuators, I can hear my camp speaker spring to life in the cabin with the startup sound, which took me a while to figure out what the heck that was.

…I’m pretty sure there is still some room to optimize sleep mode a bit.

Adding a “me too”, first time I’ve seen it in a month of ownership. Mine was parked outside (where it always is) and it was raining. I have not yet checked if my son left the fob somewhere different after showing it off to his friends.

Just an FYI, geofencing Gear Guard dorked it up for me. It wouldn't record anywhere unless it was set to 'everywhere' . And I had to do a full vehicle reset to get it to start working again after reverting the setting to 'everywhere' .

I've been thinking since they added the disable proximity key that all that did was stop the startup routine just shy of turning on the main screen and opening the doors. Folks here kept saying that wasn't true but I've driven a Telsa for years and in the instances where I've noticed, the Rivian sounds just like my Telsa did when opening the app to wake it up. It's not all the time but more than a few. At least mine does, I can't speak for others.

My R1T also does this seemingly non-stop and I think it is never able to sleep. I've done everything to rule it out except take the battery out of the fob.

I also have a service request in, but haven't heard anything yet; Although, that could be because the associate filling out the form left it empty. (At least I was able to attach a video to that request, so hopefully that gives them some context.)

Following up: I think you're correct, whomever suggested it's standby mode. I took the battery out of the fob and turned off Bluetooth and the vehicle went to sleep rather quickly. As soon as I put the battery back in the fob, the "wake" button disappeared from the app and the blinking resumed.

Mystery solved?

EDIT/UPDATE: Nevermind. This is inconsistent. Truck battery is still draining like 10% per day just sitting there with the battery out of the fob and me away from home.

My wife just noticed this weird tail light blinking on my R1T last night. Took a video. Submitted a ticket. Have an upcoming service appointment on 11/1 to address some relatively minor post-delivery stuff I found. Hope they take a look and provide an explanation then.
