What model and what does it look like deployed?

I’ll open it up and get pics this weekend. It’s Frontrunners standard RTT and because the frontrunner racks use the t-slot system it bolted right on.

I have a Thule Tepui Explorer 3 and this is mounting plate. It's exactly 3.5" between the 2 outside holes. Hoping it will fit or I'll have to make new plates.

I think thats the answer…how hard can it be to make longer plates!? Lowes has everything you need…

I thought I'd already posted these up in this thread previously??? but they worked perfectly for my tent and the crossbars. I wrapped the bars with a chopped up bike tube at each mount to reduce the scarring.

I added an LED light strip with remote ($15) and 2.5” gel foam mattress topper ($50ish). I’ve also hung a bug zapper that doubles as a nightlight. I cut the mattress topper according to the floor space and tent folds. I can keep the bigger top piece inside and still close the tent tightly. It seems I’ll need to ditch the bottom half or store it separately. Right now I layer it over stuff in the bed and just pop it in after unfolding the tent.

I'm also contemplating if the Yakima is the best option.
I think the iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Rooftop Tent might be better, but wonder if it'll be an issue if it sticks out past the bed about 8".

Does anyone know if the ikamper sky camp 2.0 will fit on the bed with Rivian crossbars, while still having room for a hitch mounted bike rack? Another words how long is the Rivian truck bed? And how much of an overhang over the tailgate would this create?

That's way too long. It would be 40" past the rear crossbar and 25" beyond the tailgate.

Roofnest condor XL will work per the manufacturer, but roofnest has a terrible reputation. I ended up with the x-cover 2. It's 6" too long technically, but I've just been supporting the rear floor on the tailgate when in use with a wood block. And putting the little kid on that side

I’ve been looking at these options as well. It appears the ikamper mini is the best fit for Rivian - unless you’re comfortable with the overhang beyond the tailgate.

Well, I received the ladder. I was all excited and planning all this Great adventure but all I got was a ladder....

They do say it's shipped separately. I guess I'll wait....

You go right ahead and post pictures of your ladder if that is all you received... I know the forum wants to know what a roof nest ladder looks like...

Finally test deployed the Frontrunner tent. Will be camping in it in 2 weeks

Attached or some pics with it sitting on the floor of my garage. You can tell it's multi-layered tenting which will provide better climate control. It is definitely one operation open. Definitely not huge. But it appears to be incredibly well built.

I just need to mount it to the cross bars and commit to taking it somewhere....


Came with a easy up privacy tent. That's that round thing. I think you pop it up so you can do a dook in it or get dressed... Not necessarily in that order, or maybe....

Took the iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0 out for its maiden voyage last weekend.

I can confirm that it will withstand 15mph winds with 25mph gusts…

I can also confirm that sleeping is quite challenging in that scenario ?
