I ordered a Cybertruck on launch day and have/owned three Tesla’s, including Plaid. I just took delivery of the R1T and really appreciate it as compared to the Tesla’s. I may or may not own a Cybertruck, but I probably will exercise my early order for speculative purposes. The size and overall design and material quality of these initial Rivian’s, save for the few design defects, are outstanding. Over designed really. 232 screws in each door panel?! Who does that (Spoiler: Rivian)?!
Fortunately their continuous improvement initiative offset the cost of the thousand door screws by eliminating the unused 12v in the frunk.

I'm really tired of all the cars starting to look the same in the sea of 50 shades of grey. I miss the freedom designers had in like the 60's where cars had fins and a turning light in the middle of the front then the 80's where pop up headlights gave the ability's for cars to look really different. All that being said the Cyber truck is so fugly there will probably be a very small group that will buy it and it wont be cost effective to make it for very long. Should we even talk about the wiper and mirrors?

Also worth noting that for those of us who have stainless appliances, how do those things look when you get fingerprints or water spots on them? After a good rain that stainless is going to look like hammered dog shit.

Cybertruck is a myth just like the Roadster. They made a prototype for marketing...........

I'm finally excited to see the thing enter the real world. My original order was R1S max pack. I wanted a two row long range SUV EV. Cybertruck fits that niche that Rivian abandoned. Unfortunently I won't own and drive Cybertruck based on looks.

But I'm still excited and expect it to be a great vehicle. I expect it to be more efficient and possibly more durable that the R1. Anyone else like it who is not a potential buyer?

It's remarkable that the Model 3 and Y have become the new Camry, but Tesla has become boring. The cybertruck design was a great choice. I think tesla cars risks demand stagnating this decade due to lack of design innovation.
Q: "Who is excited about Cybertruck?"
A: "Absolutely no one."

Water spots was a major gripe of DeLorean owners from what I remember.
A few things I saw after doing that showed that the process seems to be using stainless steel appliance polish afterwards. I definitely don't have the time or patience for that.

Give me a coil of stainless steel, a shear and a 12ft press brake and I’ll make cybertruck bodies all day.

Not me.

From what limited information out there it appears to be an answer to a question that nobody has asked. I suppose glampers who also want to impress people by driving it to the valet at the Four Seasons will be interested.

It looks like Dr. Frankenstein sewed it together from body parts of an Aztec and Delorean.

I do like the length of the box and I am intrigued, but skeptical, about the box adjust/lift system. I also think people who say it will cost in the 80k range are delusional.

If it is ever produced, it seems like it is competition for the hummer and not the R1T.

When it was announced, no other EV trucks existed or where publicly announced. It also had a price range that doesn't seem feasible in today's economy.

Now it will be launching at a much higher price. My guess is at least $75k+. It will also face 5 EV trucks (R1T, Hummer, F150, Silverado, GMC) in production and more to come (Ram).

I really don't see how the Cybertruck is a better value or offers any big advantages except for maybe the charging network. All of the other EV trucks are very impressive and fill every niche and need for most truck buyers. Long range towing is the only thing that hasn't been solved, and I don't see the Cybertruck filling this gap. It will have similar charging speeds, and the range will still get cut in half with a trailer. The top spec will be lucky to get 200 miles of range with a trailer and require 45-60 minutes of charging to go another 150-200 miles.

So it seems the Cybertruck will be more of a Tesla Fan purchase, or a few non-Tesla fan buyers who want to latest or flashiest vehicle.

You are aware there are over a million preorders, right? Far more people are looking forward to buying a Cybertruck than a Rivian. If that remains the case when the real Cybertruck rather than the original make believe show car goes on sale remains to be seen but to suggest there isn’t wild enthusiasm for it is silly. Has any vehicle in history garnered more preorders than the Cybertruck?
