Would it be possible to have an interactive spreadsheet for R1 issues people are having? A spreadsheet, like the Rivian’s Delivered one at the top, where owners can indicate which problems they have been having with their vehicles? Such as roof glass, windshield, gear tunnel leaks, alignment, wind noise… etc. I realize some items will be a matter of personal perspective, but just curious as to the most common teething pains out there. Or do we already have something like that and I’ve missed it?

I personally think this is something that worries people more than it helps. If you have ever been on any other car forum you would see there are “issues” with every vehicle. We all know the tonneau cover. What really worries me is the thread that had a brand new member, created the account just to post the problem. This means that out of 15k vehicles once 1 problem is had then they post it. Versus the few hundred active people on this forum having an issue.

The data will be skewed by selection bias, but it will still be useful to identify correlations. For example, do people with road noise also experience water intrusion? Do people who drive with conserve mode often hear more tocking? The big challenge here is getting people to volunteer as much data as possible, even if it seems irrelevant to the issue at hand. I don't envy the person who wants to design that schema.

The list length may exceed the capacity of the spreadsheet.

Well, the maximum size of a single Excel spreadsheet is 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns. It might be little tight...

But....it would be helpful, if as a group, if a known problem exists, and a solution is found, that collective knowledge would help individuals "assist" the service side of Rivian, solve one's problems. I know they always hate to hear " I read on the internet that others have had this same xyz problem and the solution has been abc." But....helps us all to have a system that helps identify problems and then known root cause and solution.

Agreed, I just hate seeing these forums being posted by a minor percent of people that have the vehicle display as if every vehicle is having the issue. it gets viewed as having problems more than it really is.

Maybe, a spreadsheet with users on the left and mechanical issues noticed along the top. You can even ask for VIN number group (ie 121xx). Just for correlation purposes. This will show that most trucks if they have an issue only have 1 or maybe 2. And how problem free most Rivians are by seeing all the VINs NOT posted.

I just know it will attract people commenting “look at all the issues” and that drives me crazy.

So meta. The actual issues are what drive me crazy.

I picked my R1T on Saturday. About 1.5 hours into my drive home, I thought I saw a crack in the windshield. For the next hour I worried about it, and probably didn't enjoy the drive as much as I could have. Turned out a bug just splattered in a straight line. Sometimes these forums are too much doom and gloom.

Congratulations on finally taking delivery! I’m happy for you and jealous obviously haha.

And yeah, I’m not trying to start a doom and gloom thread (even though it very much looks like it). I’m more curious about the possible benefits from the data collected. Like @domoplaytime said above. Such as things to watch out for and scenarios to avoid. The recent post about cracked windshields is actually what made me bring this up to begin with. But definitely not wanting to scare people away from the brand or anything. I’m just a statistics and data kinda guy so thought it might be useful.
