so my VIN is 1304x and no delivery date. I never saw a tonneau option when I configured and I assumed it came with the electric cover like on the website. My guide now says it comes with none and can order manual for me. did I miss something?
This was reported a few weeks ago on the forum and you should have gotten emails about it. Rivian has discontinued production for the "electric cover" until they find a fix for the issues they are having for it, which is estimated some time in 2023. If you want the electric cover you have the option of delaying delivery until it becomes available again, you can discuss with your guide.

Yeah you missed that they discontinued the powered tonneau option. They are not manufacturing trucks with it anymore. Questionable if they will in the future with a redesign or just give up trying to make it work.

In addition to what the others said, I think when Rivian changed the pricing (around March 1), they stopped offering the tonneau as a standard option (They did reduce the base price to account for it). You had to go into your configuration and re-add it. If you never did that, you had no tonneau selected, but saved $1500.

So this is weird - I see everyone with 13xxx and 14xxx VINs getting delivered, but mine is 106xx and I just got the VIN waiting on delivery. Anyone know whats up with that?

Could just be a vehicle that was missing a part or needed extra QC and was set aside for a while before being put back on the list for sale.

^ okay, then I agree with @Prime above.... but I would definitely direct some questions towards my Guide so you can make an informed decision. That vehicle has some sort of history at this point (not saying it's bad history) and it's your $80K.

^ until you know the history, I wouldn't assume it's bad... just need to dig a little bit.

There were vehicles that got damaged in transport, broken windshield, dented tailgate, broken outside mirrors, etc.. all stuff that can easily replaced back to 100% factory condition. It could also be a minor mechanical issue like dead 12V batts, etc.. that are also 100% repairable back to factory condition.

FWIW- my 2017 Bolt had it's windshield broken in transit. It was delayed several days time in Brooklyn, and the first time I did a deep cleaning (several months later) I found the unmistakable little chunks of windshield glass way up under the dash. The dealer never explained the delivery delay, and the car was still in factory new condition when I got it even though it had sustained damage in transit.

I did also notice on the contract it says mileage is 100 - does anyone know if this is just standard for the contract or actual mileage?

I have 137XX assigned. Since some 14XXX have been delivered, I assume that means my truck is somewhere, built and ready, just waiting to find its way to my garage.

It was a great Monday!

After waiting nearly 2-years I just selected a truck from the R1T Shop. It was IDENTICAL to my reserved configuration so I snagged it. I'm so happy I was patient and waited for the light and airy OC interior. I think GW and OC make an awesome combination.

The VIN is 139xx so it appears to be a fairly fresh build. I am VERY excited about that. I would have refused an older VIN due to concerns that it's been sitting around waiting for collision damage repairs, etc.

Now to jump on those 8 steps?
