Nice to finally see a "Coming Soon" SC in the Toronto area. Finally, some light at the end of the tunnel.

I also noticed those NJ planned service centers seemed to conflict with the Rivian S-1 disclosure. I couldn’t find anything online suggesting there has been a legislative change in NJ. Any NJ forum members able to clarify?
I don't know anything about legality, but the Brooklyn SC told me they've signed a lease for a NJ location

Unless Tesla opens their network it is totally dead. I understand that 75 is one of the busiest highways in the nation.
I guess living in Cincinnati, I will fully charge and hope I can make the EA station in Ann Arbor.
In warm weather you should be okay. I'm just south of Toledo and did Great American Ballpark in on 21"s with the aero shields on with about 110 miles left, Ann Arbor is only about 50 miles from me. If you are ever in a pinch, my company in Maumee does have a 125kW CCS charger on property I could direct you to. It's technically private but it is not monitored or enforced.

It looks like its in a good spot too. Very close to the Tesla service center in Vaughan. I am surprised that they dont show anything in Quebec though. They must be working form West to East instead of by market size.

I totally appreciate your frustration, but it’s pretty clear Rivian is applying sound business sense by prioritizing service center location build outs based on where likely $80,000+ Rivian buyers are concentrated.

This absence on the Florida panhandle doesn’t appear to be solely a Rivian conclusion. For example, “luxury adventure” maker Land Rover‘s US website shows they have 18 Land Rover dealerships in the state of Florida today and none of their dealerships are located on the panhandle —- and this is a well-established vehicle manufacturer. Their site indicates the closest Land Rover dealership to Destin Florida is in Mobile AL, about 100 miles away.
Mobile would work and would service a large region.... The only thing I can think is that maybe, in general, conservative voters (I am one myself) prefer ICE and the the panhandle is largely conservative... (Please avoid politics, not my intent)... Lots of money in the panhandle so I am not sure your thoughts make sense there. Lots of luxery vehicles here and certainly luxery trucks.

I would imagine service centers are set based on complicated demographics as well as preorder interest. It would be nice to see a Rivian location in the panhandle one day, but until then you're welcome to visit us in Jax any time - lots of Rivian folks here. Looks like the Jax location (or at least the placeholder on the map) is right off I-10 on the west side of town, should be a good hub for both unloading new trucks coming from the CSX rail terminal and for serving mobile service units headed to the panhandle or north into GA.
Problem is they are not delivering vehicles to panhandle orders based on proximity to a service center... I would have no issue getting service in Jax given that they should not need much service once the bugs are resolved.

The bigger head scratching location is both Tampa and Orlando... They are less than 100 miles apart. With Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa that will be 3 Service Centers in a 200mile radius

That does seems a touch close / kind of "overlapping" the same general area as Orlando, especially with the Fort Myers location - but like some folks have pointed out, I'm sure they've performed plenty of analytics to determine sales, delivery, buyer demographics.

And this is from the 2020 census:

If you overlay the SC locations they are right in those high density areas:

If you live in one of the eight states listed above and want to see a Service Center in your state, start contacting your local representatives!
I've contacted multiple Pennsylvania clowns, I mean politicians, about this multiple times. No response from any of them. Meanwhile, the proposed legislation to allow other EV manufacturer sales besides Tesla (how is that not government sponsored restriction of fair trade?) just sits in "Professional Licensure" committee since Sept 2021, dying a slow death as the lobbyists for NADA and the Big 3 want.

To show how backwards this state is, Pennsylvania still has a "Blue Law" to this day banning Sunday sales of cars, as a few other states do. Legislation to change that is also dying a slow death since 2017.

Looks like there’s one planned for the Florence/Bordentown area. Can’t zoom their map in any more to get a better read, but it looks like around the Turnpike bridge.

I can only speculate - it would really take a lawyer with knowledge of NJ code to give a proper answer. That's not me. The S-1 is more than a year old, so it's quite possible the situation has changed or that Rivian has found a loophole it can exploit in NJ.

My GUESS is that the specifics of NJ law allow automobile dealers to open service centers, but don't allow an out-of-state non-dealer manufacturer to do the same. If this is the case, Rivian can get around the restrictions by becoming a dealer in NJ. This seems to be allowed under the Tesla exception, which permits Tesla to open up to 4 (?) dealerships in the state. So I can imagine that Rivian will be allowed to provide service as a dealer, but only if it has dealerships. That would imply these new locations in NJ are going to be more like Venice, with a "showroom" so that they qualify as dealerships. This is pure speculation, so don't start repeating this without attribution.

LA desperately needs an East Side service Center. Glad to see one is in the works.
