It’s not hard to get trucks there, a lot of time it’s cheaper to buy here in CA then send($1500) out there.Might be tough to get there, but once you're there....?
Seriously though, glad to see the four major islands are so well covered. The Big Island and Kauai would be especially fantastic places for either of the Rivians. Your dad will be a happy man!
Is he a pre-order holder for a Rivian, and if so, what is he going with?
My dad is semi retired, lives in Hawaii, but his construction company is here in California. Pre COVID he would fly back to CA every other month or so to take care of work stuff. He keeps a car(Nero plug-in) at my house in CA for when he’s in town.
He hedged his bets and preordered the CT and R1t the day they announced the CT. He isn’t getting LE, couldn’t justify the extra money and mostly wanted wait and see how things go for a new company. Current plan is to have it replace the Kia for his CA/work truck( got to love the EV and 179 tax write offs). Then in a few years send it to Hawaii depending how he likes going full electric.
