Max pack quad motor was going to be the first bunch built. Now it’s…never.

Same. Very lame. Why not happy? I'm actually a bit upset that I didn't keep the max pack. I would take a dual motor max pack with $4500 off.
Actually not surprising at all. The 11k towing limit was a structural decision and I saw one of their engineers say clearly that the motors were plenty capable of towing much more - as the Motortrend guys proved with their 34k lb towing stunt. Quad or dual, with the right frame either motor setup would no doubt tow way more than 11k.Interesting that the tow rating is unchanged, even though the Max will have more weight onboard.
Solid plan. ? I ordered an ICE Silverado last weekend. Will probably cancel the Max Pack reservation whenever the Chevy shows up. I love seeing the occasional Rivian on the road around me. But at this point it's doubtful they'd build anything I want to see in my driveway. ?I think I’m finally going to punch out of my ‘21 max pack order. I’m going to take it out on our planet and order a Ram TRX.
I'm not defending Rivian on this direction. But seems to me that it's not that they "couldn't" deliver max pack, but instead realized they didn't need to. They have more demand for large pack than they can deliver and by focusing on the smaller batteries they can build more faster.Rivian over-promised and couldn't deliver a Max Pack Quad Motor. And they took your money and led you on. That's terrible. But, this is probably the best way to handle this situation.
Not if The extra chassis length of R1T is needed for the additional battery capacity. This makes me wonder if they will do a dual motor max pack R1S.
