And with the financial strain they are in, I can't see them diverting resources to it at the moment. The Camp Kitchen was one of the selling points of the truck for me, so I hope that they'll come out with it at some point.

There are alternatives being developed though. I am currently signed up for this one - it seems well designed and a LOT cheaper than rivian's offering:

They are also on the forum with another cool project:

I am signed up for the slide out tray as well. I was going to build my own, but have sent back the pull out roller slides in favor of this unit. The estimate is to ship around mid to late April.

Rivian won't manufacture the camp kitchen. Its also high margin. So if they have done the developement work they don't save money by cancelling.

It's also iconic to the brand.

The only update I have from Guide is that it's still planned. He did NOT say S-O--O-n...

I thought it was being developed by a third party? If that's the case, shouldn't take any of Rivian's resources to get it done. Clearly they're focused on just getting trucks out the door. Remove the tonneau, remove 12v plugs, pass on the kitchen, pass on the slideout tray. Pass on the auto up tailgate. Anything non-critical that could possibly delay production, they simply remove.

The Tonneau would have been a big turn off for me if I hadn't gotten my truck before it removed from production. Was one of the big selling points for me over the Ford. I had the slide out tray in my original order too, but had to sacrifice that to get my truck. That's one I can live without. The Tonneau cover however, is something I benefit from every day as I have stuff in the bed that I don't want exposed.

Because it's so fragile apparently, I rarely open and close it, but still benefit from it being there. I just load almost everything from the tailgate of the bed. That was another feature that had a lot of appeal to me, but fortunately, is something I can live without. Makes ease of use better, but doesn't take away any function as you can still close the tail gate manually. The gear tunnel shuttle also would have made ease of use better, but again, isn't a critical item.

As much as they marketed the camp kitchen though, I can see where many would be disappointed that it's not available yet. That one removes significant function from the truck that attracted many to Rivian.

Tank turn was another one that they promoted the heck out of, only to pull it from the list too. Could be critical in some off-road situations, but probably something most can live without.

Of all of them, to me, the tonneau and camp kitchen on are the two they should be investing time into resolving. Driver+ is another one that people want, but also appears to be on the back burner of the camp kitchen we don't have available.

The financial strain part is why I question a lot of things. I came across my first Rivian charger the other day and realized it wasn't just free to me it was open to the public. Why?

Probably still cheaper to have their chargers open to the public than it is to do paid advertising.

True I just don't think they need the advertising hell just the charger with their name on it is advertisement. Also its just that much sooner they are going to close the tap for us because everyone is using free power.

Looks great!
Im not to that point yet and as soon as I am they will probably release the factory version. I just like how clean and layed out the factory set up is with everything in gear tunnel.
