Truck was plugged into the Rivian wall charger in the garage and I noticed the light around the charging port was red. Unplugged it for about 10 seconds and plugged it back in. Light turned white and then after a few mins it would turn red again. After 4 more attempts, I decided to call CS and the guy suggested a hard reset. Plugged the charger in again.. same result. Decided to check the app and it said the charger was offline. Turned the breaker off to the charger for 2 minutes, then flipped it back on. A few mins later the guy on the phone said he could see the charger come back online, but he wanted to do a remote reset on it. I didn’t see any difference in the pulsing light on the charger while he did the reset but either way, it worked! App says it’s online and shows the truck plugged in again!

Figured I would post this just incase someone googles it looking for a solution.

Thanks for posting - I'm going through the exact same issue. They haven't said anything about doing a reset on the charger yet. Went from Service to the charging team. Sent in a ton of photos, videos as they requested and I'll point them to this post. I noticed this immediately AFTER the latest OTA update. Never had issues with the charger before that.

Charges fine on my portable connected to a 240 outlet.

Forgot to mention that part. We just updated the truck last Tuesday night and haven’t had a single charging issue before that. Truck updated just fine on the first try too.

I seem to have lost the ability to change the amps since the update. It’s greyed out. Anyone else seen this?

Yes I have and there’s definitely something wrong since the update. Sometimes when I plug into 110v I get 30-35 miles overnight and sometimes like last night I get nothing. The app says I’ve pulled 2kw all night and haven’t added a single mile. Where’s the juice going??ā€ā™‚

I didn’t even notice that but I’ll check this afternoon when my wife gets home with the truck. Are you using the Rivian wall charger too?
Might not matter though since it looks like av8or is having issues even on a 110V non-wifi charger.

A while back I had the charger end of the connector start making poor contact with the truck and started arcing at times. Ended up melting some of the charger end of connector and whole charger had to be replaced.

Just seems to me that the connection between truck and charger should be tighter. My original worked for like 12k miles and then started faulting. Noticed a bit of hot smell and heard it a few times. Then inspected and sure enough...had been arcing a while and started melting.

Rivian was a great help getting it solved with new charger.

Not shitting on Rivian. Acknowledge all brands have issues. Still love truck beyond all other vehicles ever. Know I am an early adopter. Etc...

Ahh good call to watch out for. Ours still feels like a solid connection (just over 2k miles) but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for this just incase.

I just started having this issue with mine. Filed a ticket, will see what happens. Mine hasn't melted yet though, switched to mobile charger as I don't need a fire in the garage.

Mine was doing the same and they replaced It. After a few months the replacement is starting to do it. There’s a problem with these chargers… my electrician said he’s seen a bunch fail and the others brands are fine.
