Oh I realize that. I am assuming that making those motors is cheaper for Rivian, so even if there are fewer orders due to them being over the $80k cap, they might make a little bit on those vehicles compared to using the Bosch motors. I am just guessing of course…getting the dual motors is not going to change the price materially for those who ordered before 3/1/21. go to the configurator and config a dual motor, you'll see youre paying the same if not more than the quad pre-3/1 price hike. and they've said anyone who is pre-3/1 order who switches to dual will then being paying the regular, current price for your vehicle.
