I think it really comes down to having options. This is where my Taycan does so perfectly. First press of the brakes automatically engages regen. Deeper press (beyond regen capabilities) and the brakes come on to haul the car down. But, doing 75 on the highway, let off accelerator and feel it coast down the hills for a VERY long time.
It also has a button to turn on “recuperation” if I’m in traffic.
I think that should be the model for EVs, personally.
I'm a huge fan of one pedal driving, but not everyone is like me. There are lots of people who want it the way the Taycan is done, and there is no reason I see that it can't be an option.
If you get a chance I hope you do a review of your R1T @15K miles to see how it compares to the Taycan.
Things like:
Tok noise (any kind of annoying mechanical noise on acceleration or declaration)
Suspension noises.
Heated Steering wheel comparison (during winter cold)
Wiper speed at full (I find it slow on the R1T)
Autowipers (I don't find the R1T to be sensitive enough and often wipes a bit late during moderate rain).
