R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

I did 3 "first drives", I just got access a week later after my 3rd, i bluntly asked for access to the shop, the employee said he will see make a note of it. I'd say go for it.
CS said you can only have one first driver per reservation, so I made another 1k deposit, booked a first drive, then cancelled that said deposit ?

For 4 days straight I didn’t see any GW, I ended up going with Forest Green which I equally wanted.

My guide recently told me that First Mile test drives are not currently available at the Normal plant or SC.

Several months ago when I inquired about a factory tour, I was offered (instead) an opportunity to visit the factory lobby and view vehicles on display in the lobby.

Did you have to be on some list to walk into the lobby. Did you have to check in or were you just able to walk in?

My experience started as an email to CS eight months ago (before I had a guide) asking whether I could get a factory tour. The reply was from [email protected], signed by Bryan. He gave me specific dates and times that I could visit the lobby and asked that I RSVP.

I was put off that they wouldn't allow a factory tour. I politely declined the lobby visit and never pursued it further. At that time (August 2022), Bryan couldn't guarantee that there would be an R1S in the lobby for me to "walk around."

I worked in a Honda factory for 6 years -- I want to tour Rivian's factory, not just the lobby. I guess that day will come when I finally take delivery of my R1S.

I was looking forward to the factory tour too but was told that my R1S from the shop was already setup to be shipped to the SC and that I could no longer do a tour. That was three weeks ago and the vehicle is still in Normal (as far as I know). Point being - hopefully you're able to get a tour; doesn't seem like it's an option for all deliveries.

Just got access this morning (April 2021 preorder). Southeast and no GW available.

I'm pretty sold on just waiting it out for GW at this point, but going to shop around and see if I can find another option that checks all my other boxes (20" AT regular or bright and OC interior).

I'm sure it's been asked and answered 1000 times in the last 63 pages of this thread, but at the risk of being annoying and not going back to read it all -- how often does inventory update and/or is to close to "real time" where it's always updating?

Updates are totally random and can occur at any time.. Days can go by with nothing or some days there will be multiple additions.
