I'm blaming Rivian for not doing the work to get the service center in NM. I can blame each state that is bought by car dealerships too, sure. But if you are going to undertake selling vehicles in states that don't permit service centers you better darn well have a plan B even a plan C. And that plan B should not be putting the responsibility of getting service centers in various states on your customers.

We had no problem having a Tesla delivered to our home here in NM, in 2020. And then we went to get it licensed and titled ourselves.

Tesla delivered us a Model 3 to our home, here in Santa Fe, NM in 2020, before they ever had their current service center.

Wow--we live just outside of Santa Fe , here in ElDorado. I have had several chats with service people and no-one has said they couldn't deliver out of state. I think I will contact them again. This is really skankie--since they haven't said they would have torefund my deposit.

Went to a service center in Richmond, VA. Was in VA at the time and asked them if I could just see Compass Yellow in person. Wanted to make a color decision once and for all. In talking to the people working there I was told they had a certain radius where they delivered vehicles. Also the ones brought in for servicing were within a certain number of miles. They said North Carolina was a place they delivered. Was surprised to see yesterday someone posted they too received an email like mine. Basically saying they cannot get delivery from Richmond to Raleigh, NC. (avg. 3 hour drive)

I'm not sure what is going on.

I am in WI where we can have service centers but cannot purchase direct. I had to drive to IL to make my Tesla purchase. I couldn't get it delivered.

I stand by what I said. Blame NM, not Rivian.

I can certainly understand being annoyed at Rivians poor communication, and execution. You're basically joining a crowded club with that.

But, do you really want a Rivian without a Service center within a couple hours drive?

I've only owned my R1T for 9 months or so and its been to the service center 4 times and had mobile service 1 time. At a minimum I would have had to driven to the service center twice for recalls.

Got my Rivian email today on updated delivery. Apparently not going to happen. Well, that is unless I petition my state to allow Rivian to have a service center. Rivian says they don't deliver out of state. Strange since in 2021 Rivian stated to TechCrunch that they were now authorized by National Highway Transportation Safety Board and EPA to deliver in all 50 states. The existing vehicles in New Mexico, with NM plates, came from the service center in Denver. Now they won't deliver or let me pick up in Colorado? Say that they can't register the vehicle unless there is a service center in my state. Really? If they want us to petition for service centers then just tell us. Don't give me some BS about no deliveries possible unless your state has a service center. Tesla has a similar business/sales model and there is a service center in New Mexico. I have had my order in for over 2 years. Rivian just realized I live in New Mexico? Now, after all this time and many delivery updates from Rivian, they realized I live in a state with no service center? Ultimately does this mean they want me to cancel my order because Rivian won't deliver? Rivian not delivering is becoming a theme.

I just picked up in NY and live in NJ and no service center here. They certainly deliver to people out of state. Just not your state. They also already filed for my registration and plates. In some states they tell you how to do it yourself.

Multiple Rivians have been delivered to customers in NM from the Phoenix service center and a couple of them are on the forums here. At least two in Gallup......maybe you are further South....or have a configuration or order date that isn't far enough up the queue yet....

FYI, I'm in NJ, the service center is in Brooklyn, NY. It's a 2-hour trek to the SC for me, got my R1T 9 months after placing a reservation. The service center also told me that they service Pennsylvania as well and it's a 4-hour drive from Philly.
