Same situation here. The hotspot is one of my favorite features, and would absolutely pay for an unlimited data plan.

My hotspot is ridiculously slow and won’t stream anything or load websites quickly (tried at various locations). I have my ATT iPhone presumably connected to the same tower and I am able to to above without issues. I was thinking maybe Rivian throttles it with connected devices but sounds like people are able to stream easily. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this? (Tried soft reset).

I had power and wifi down for several days followed by a snowstorm. Rivian hotspot worked fine streaming within 20+ feet. Buckled up a driver seat belt to keep the truck awake. Negligible battery drain.

I wonder if Show and Tell Mode would use more/less battery in this case?

I've never used it. Have hotspot with unlimited data on my phone already. Suppose if I didn't, that might be a different story. Can see it being useful for people with kids, tablets, etc.

This hasn't been my experience. I have an iPhone and an iPad pro with AT&T service, and using WiFi and the truck's HotSpot is -significantly- better while traveling. I've assumed it is because the truck has a better antenna without the packaging constraints of a phone or tablet.

I've had zero complaints and almost 100% connectivity for passengers even when traveling through familiar rural routes where service is spotty on the phone hotspot.

I know that doesn't help you personally, except that there's likely something wrong with yours that can be fixed.

I used it this weekend camping. My phone has unlimited hotspot but had no data connection. I used the Rivian hotspot to send some texts instead of my satellite messenger.

If I had to make a list:

• Being able to use another carrier when you don't have service on your cell
• Being able to use a better antenna for the same carrier
• Family/Kids or others without cell service activated (been a life saver with nieces/nephews)
• Connected Radar Detectors (this is my main use case)
• Connected Dash Cams
• 3rd Party devices used for AA/ACP
