I took mine out. I don't keep anything value in frunk with the way mine behaves. And also nothing I care if gets wet in event it opens in a rainstorm. That's terrible news. Now I'm afraid to actually use the space or keep my portable charger in there...
I agree....let us know. They didn't solve mine. Just said it didn't show up as anything unusual in the log and no errors from the appropriate sensors, etc....Haven't had this happen. Following to see if a solution is provided by Rivian. Fingers crossed for you.
Had no clue regarding the record diagnostic. Next time this happens I'll use that trick. Thanks! So my truck has been "plagued" by random frunk popping open-as in the latch pops unlatches it, but it would not fully open on it's own- since day one. It happens totally random, sometimes several times when driving so I have to pull over, put it in park, then fully open it and close it back up. Last Sunday I finally had enough and made Rivian come and tow it to the service center. I was down right angry.
Ok, the replaced the latch, I get in the truck, close the door, and BAM! the frunk pops! I'm livid at this time! Demanded the techs fix it right away, asked why the hell do you replace the latch after the error message the truck shows is "entrapment button malfunction"? Anyway, they pulled the tub, got to the entrapment button and oh, what do you know, the connector wasn't seated all the way in. They put in a new entrapment button, clicked the connector securely, and I was on my way 20 min later. Been a week and zero issues, knock on wood!
Hope that's a solution for everyone! Use the "record diagnostic" 3 sec hold of hazard lights to bookmark when your issue appears so the techs can easily see it during OBD diagnosis.
I haven't. Problem is I use the thing. And it won't work at all with that unchecked. And my random openings are super far apart....weeks...or more....then bam...open again when I come out to it. But have not ever caught it red handed happening.Have you tried unchecking the power hood operation under Vehicle - Access? this may prevent the hood opening, at all.
I left it unchecked due to my low-height garage racks.
I have suspicions on the buffered command too.Haven't seen this issue but I did have the liftgate open once while locking my R1S via the mobile app. The day before I had made an unsuccessful attempt to open the liftgate via Alexa. It was almost as if the command had been buffered overnight and finally executed when I locked the vehicle manually the next day. Haven't seen this again but it did motivate me to get the dog crate in place... just in case something pops open while driving.
