NO voice directions , only tones when using GPS/Maps

Hi.....one of the VERY few issues i've encountered from day 1 on my T is that I get no voice directions when using maps...only get tones.
I've been on with customer support numerous times who've been great but ultimately have asked me to bring to the service center to have it repaired, trouble shoot etc.
I've waited since I want to also have my auto tonneau repaired at the same time...

Has anyone else had this issue? LOVE my R1T.

At the risk of asking about something you may have already been aware of (and gosh, I hope CS made you check this), but have you checked these settings?:

Rivian R1T R1S NO voice directions , only tones  when using GPS/Maps IMG_3652

Sure did, erik...and turned that volume all the way up to high as well...but no luck.
was hoping for an OTA for this but most probably a hardware issue..CS has run through all sorts of things with me.

I have only experienced that when I'm talking on my phone in the vehicle via Bluetooth connection.

There's a few threads about this. I had this issue after taking delivery of my R1T in March. Poured all through settings without success. Turned out it needed an Infotainment system reset (hold down outer edge of both steering wheel buttons). Has worked fine ever since. Maybe give that a shot? Good luck, let us know if you get it fixed! ?

Welp, kinda hoped that would be a simple fix that just slipped by everyone. I'll take getting embarrassed by a simple fix that I overlooked over a bigger issue requiring more time/effort any day. I hope it wasn't an insulting suggestion!

Sometimes in other systems I've had to disable a setting and re-enable it to get it to function properly. I've never experienced that in the Rivian but I would be trying it if you haven't already.

This worked for me, on a long trip. The voice directions stopped working, only had the tones. I checked the screen settings and they were correct. I disabled voice for one stretch, reenabled it for the next stretch and it worked after that. Has not repeated since.

I do not have Alexa setup and I have the voice prompts. It is not required to setup Alexa.

Well, you can read the more detailed thread (see link below), but Rivian uses Alexa Voice Services to provide speech synthesis. If the Alexa software is broken on the vehicle, then the navigation will only be able to chime and will not be able to speak. If the original poster CAN set up Alexa or DOES have Alexa set up, then this is probably not the cause in this particular case. But not having Alexa set up does not preclude the voice from working if the Alexa software is working.

So my question to the original poster "Do you have Alexa set up?" is meant for diagnosis purposes. If Alexa can't be enabled, as described in the above linked thread, then that would cause the OP's issue and the fix would be a service call.

Hi VSG...Im the original poster and thanks for your input. I have not been able to set up Alexa and others like you have also said that could be the issue. Im unable to get back to the set up Alexa screen at this point and was finally told to bring it in to CS for repair

I too am having trouble maintaining voice prompts. Resetting the screens restores them for a short while.
