At a minimum, Rivian should add an easy toggle in the app so I can enable/disable PAAK from my phone, temporarily. This seems like low-hanging fruit.
I love this idea. Proximity is 3 menus deep in the vehicle. It makes a ton of sense to have a toggle in the app.

Weird - I don't get it. Why do some people have crappy PAAK response and it works well for others?
Could be any number of the below.
  • Rivian coding needs improvement
  • Rivian coding is not compatible with all phone versions
  • New software release on phone degrades PAAK responsiveness
  • Battery optimization software on the phone turns off PAAK periodically.
  • metal plate in the driver's leg is affecting the signal
This is a completely unqualified and noncomprehensive list.

I can't turn off bluetooth. My watch needs bluetooth to be active... And if I'm doing work outside (such as landscaping) I usually want to wear headphones which also require bluetooth.

There seems to be a real problem with Android 13 and it's not Rivian related. When I have issues with my truck my watch also won't connect to my phone. Flapping bluetooth seems to fix the issues for a while for me.

Bluetooth has always been half baked as long as it has existed IMHO. Regardless of the device or the use case.

I agree with this! I had watch off since I didn't want to mess it up moving, but that is a very valid point. Just let us toggle app use of it off, since I don't think it will ever work for close proximity work. Normally it is marginally acceptable enough for me to not carry key, and keep a rfid card in wallet, but not when needing to be near vehicle for anytime.

And by near, I mean standing in bed, etc... even touching it....lock....unlock.....lock....unlock.....

I helped a kid move last night....Paak drove me up a wall....constantly locking and unlocking as I am loading the bed....

I made note to self....next time need to use it to do truck things like hauling.....turn off Bluetooth and take the key....
Do not need to turn off Bluetooth. Set the Rivian app to use location services only when running. Then close the Rivian app until ready to go.

Works great on my iPhone, can walk around the garage all day once I close the app and truck does nothing. When the app is open works fine.

Do we have live/real time access to the cab roof camera that looks rearward over the bed yet?

This is huge for me been fighting this since the last update I use her for everything through voice commands.
  • Fixed an occasional issue: Alexa occasionally didn’t play music even when Alexa responded and confirmed the command to play music.
I also opened a ticket on this glad they are doing the right thing.

  • Addressed a regression with acceleration response that affected launch performance.
This still happens to me every time I ask alexa to play a song. It plays the first note and stops. I have Tidal linked to alexa and also signed in on Rivian. That might be causing it, but can't tell since there is no way to sign out of Tidal.

Agreed. Things still aren't 100 percent with Alexa in the new update.

Alexa/Rivian did play a song when I'm not in the music section, post-update.

Alexa/Rivian did play a song when I was in Tune/In.

It was playing music from my iPhone through Bluetooth while in the phone section of the music section.

However, Alexa/Rivian failed to play a tune while I was in the phone section of the music section.

The first time, it played Sinatra for a second and went back to playing paused music on my iPhone.

The second time, it played Sinatra for a second and just stopped playing altogether.

Here is a screen capture. It shows the Sinatra album cover on the right, but it's not playing anything.

Is the update proving stable? I’m on a road trip, 1000 miles from home. Don’t want to update only to find some line of code is draining the 12v or bricking the vehicle like the .10 (or whatever) update did.

It only came out late yesterday, so the jury's still out.

With nothing earth shattering to offer, I would 100% hold off installing it till I got back home if I were you.

No way I would trust any update on a road trip. I was hesitant to update it now any my road trip isn't for another couple weeks.
