That explains why you can get an R1T in a few weeks now. They've effectively cleared the backlog with about 40k built. It also means that they have probably 60-70k R1S to get through before they get through all of that back log.

I'd bet money they have a backlog of dual motor R1Ts too but yes it does appear they have cleared most of the backlog on QM R1Ts

Wonder what percentage of R1S orders are dual motors? I’m selfishly hoping they’ll clear backlog on QM R1Ss by end of year.

I will preorder R2, If service centers are opened near my location as long as with in 1 hr !

For R1S I need to drive 3+ hours , I can't relay both car 3+ hours drive to service centers.

Being dedicated to building out the RAN network, can still happen while switching to NACS, we have already seen DCFC providers saying they will incorporate NACS along side CCS… but let’s face the simple fact. CCS1 is dead. It is now obsolete. With over 80% of EV’s market share being onboard with NACS.

I think Rivian was caught a little flat footed on the rush of NACS adoption news. At this point they are probably look at how it helps or hurts their strategic plans with the R1/R2 and RAN. I do believe they'll build out RAN with NACS but I don't think we'll get an announcement until late '23 at the earliest.

Beyond that, lots of good stuff in those announcements.

EDIT: I'm really looking forward to seeing the R2 next year. I'm in if they make a Wrangler competitor.

What? Rivian is committed to building out their own walled garden which acts nearly exactly like the Tesla Super Charger Network in that it is reliable, plug and play, and simply a joy to use despite that despicable, unmanageably large CCS plug?
