Just took delivery of our R1T after 4 years of watching and 2 years of waiting for our order. Did not notice any glaring gap issues but curious about hood alignment and gear tunnel doors. Hood seems to be recessed back a few millimeters. When I checked 2 other R1Ts on the lot they seemed to be aligned the same way. Gear tunnel doors are not flush with the rest of panels but Guide said it was so they could be grabbed to open when latch pressed. They stick out a bit out from the rest of the panels, a bit noticeable when viewed from the back of truck when looking closely. Trying to decide on whether to list on service request but won't bother if these are normal alignments.

What was strange is that R1T has production date of 2/23 and based on dirt in crevices and around spare tire well it had been sitting awhile. Surprised it hadn't been allocated or delivered earlier. However, pickup-up at Capitol Heights service center was easiest car transaction I've ever had.

Heading out for a weekend trip so we'll see how it goes and can evaluate the truck further. Will already say I'm not a huge fan of display, and taking some time to get used to not powering vehicle on/off. Definitely going to be a learning curve and probably unfairly comparing to our EV6 where Kia goes overboard with display customizing options. Also, is there anyway to show the current efficiency on the Driver display or on the main display without using the trip function? Be nice to see how I'm doing as I drive.

Thanks to everyone on the forums who have given information and feedback over the years. It's been an invaluable resource as we made the decision to order sight unseen and to keep up to date on Rivian.

For the driver's display, hold one of the outer steering wheel buttons on the left side. It'll cycle through three screens on the driver's display (tire pressure, navigation, and efficiency)

This should not be acceptable but there is a range of hood to fender alignment from photos I have seen of trucks for sale on carsandbids. Ranging from perfectly flush and aligned, to ok and then through to egrious where the hood is several millimeters above the fender line. This seems to be in the middle of that. Haven’t seen gear tunnel doors not be flush before - that is usually not an issue.

I just pulled the below from one of the pictures on Rivian's website. This is what the hood "should" look like. Perfectly aligned. Mine looks more like yours than this. It doesn't really bother me, but if I have some sort of major warranty issue and it's got to be at the SC for an extended amount of time, I might bring it up. Until then I'm enjoying the truck and try not to look for things like this.

Congrats on the new truck!

My hood was misaligned as well but instead it was sunken in towards the windshield end. I had a bunch of paint issues that Rivian took care of and they realigned the hood for me while they were at it. I'm sure they'll do the same for you.

I've just noticed the gap on my gear tunnel door and alignment similar to yours. Doesn't bother me so I'll leave it for the next service appointment since I just got my truck back after almost a month =)

The alignment looks just OK. I would email support so they can add it to your next service. Btw, while at the Denver SC this week, I walked and looked at every new vehicle on the lot. About 80 r1s and 40 r1t. I was specifically looking at panel gaps and rear hatch alignment. Out of all these, I saw only 2 hatches slightly out of alignment, 3 hoods that could have been better and no doors or tunnels that were in need of adjustment. I call that pretty dang great

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Figured there had to be a way. Still trying to work thru the manual to figure everything out which is going to take awhile.

That is great news. Based on early reports on the forum was concerned about panel gaps being an issue but was relieved during delivery that no major issues.

Pleased to hear it is better. I look at the vehicles on sale in cars and bids and a significant number have some hood/fender alignment issue and every S had tailgate issues. Will look forward to seeing May/June builds onwards to see if it has gotten better.

I picked up my R1T yesterday and paint and panel gaps all seemed to be pretty consistent. I'll give it a closer look this week when I wash and wax it. The one think I noticed was some PPF that's a bit out of alignment on one of the gear tunnel doors.

Overall, it seems that my truck was put together pretty well. my vin in in the 236xx range.

The hood can be easily adjusted by an owner (ask me how I know) but from the pictures that is not as bad as they come (not to say it is acceptable).

Congrats on the new truck!

Pick your battles with fit/finish issues would be my advice. Rivian service is good but anytime you start messing with things there is the potential to create more problems.

To anyone who isn't happy with it my suggestion would be to refuse delivery and get matched with another that has better F&F.

With that said my gear tunnel and hood aren't perfect....not bad enough for me to schedule service. Some adjustment on hood may be possible with the bump stops.

Hello sir! I can't find the posts about adjusting the hood-- may you point me in the right direction?

I don't know of a post but if you have metric sockets it is not difficult.
