Was that one on their "coming soon" map? It was at least on their original strategic plan, but I'm not sure if I remember it on the "coming soon". I guess that's a good sign if the "coming soon" list might potentially not be the only ones that could happen at any given time?

FWIW, this one also seems to be an "adventure enabler". It's about 33 miles from the nearest EA stations in Winslow and Show Low and looks like it's placed very well for a loop through Petrified Forest NP.

Last day of the quarter. Will there be any more openings today? Several sites look really close.
Seems too close to EA stations to me. What we need is:

Kayenta, AZ
Shiprock, NM
Durango, Co
Moab, UT (EA is building there)

Try getting from Phx to Moab today, good luck. Getting to Durango is pretty easy, but then the fast chargers there all appear to be broken, and they are fairly new. ChargePoint is worse than EA for reliability.

Their plan is clearly to build outward from the first core routes. Those stations you mentioned make total sense, but I think it's also completely reasonable for Rivian to not build island stations that can't connect to other parts of the system without a specific short-term plan to get them connected.

I suspect the next few only in that region will be, in no particular order, just based on what we know about publicly (permits, "coming soon" map, etc.):
Dateland, AZ
Sedona, AZ
Scottsdale, AZ
Vegas, NV
Beaver, UT

We don't have a ton of transparency on any progress for other sites in AZ, NM, UT, or CO. Doesn't mean there aren't other sites that could pop up in the short or medium term, just means we don't know anything about them other than a general idea that other locations were on the original strategic plan. Just look at this Holbrook station. We had no idea it might open this week. NONE. I hope we start seeing a bunch of similar surprises.

I was just talking to the wife this morning about maybe being up for a week or 2 around xmas at the in-laws in Casa Grande, AZ. Our usual excuses are not wanting to do the drive since we'd have to schlep the dogs down (that's easier to explain than Casa Grande is lame and there is nothing to do there and their place isn't big enough) but with the new RAN, maybe I would be up for it. I better start looking for airbnbs in their geriatric community now though.

You could always visit the Lucid factory when there!

I tried to do that 2 years ago over xmas. I used their address when I signed up and reserved one (since cancelled) and someone emailed me and asked if I wanted to come in to the show room in Scottsdale. I asked if they were doing anything at the plant and they said no but again tried to push me to come in to the showroom.... at the mall... the week before xmas.... during COVID. No thanks.

Do they now do anything at the plant?

Tiny update on "Cherokee, NC": The Rivian.com map now says "Whittier, NC" instead of "Cherokee, NC" for the coming soon pin. That should pretty well confirm that it's a RAN site going into that parking lot between Food Lion, Arby's, and McDonald's. Not that there was really any doubt anyway.

Best thing about the Shasta RAN is skipping the Anderson EA

It will probably not be Dateland, they just opened Gila Bend instead. Dateland already has EA and a brand new Tesla site. Yuma would make more sense than Dateland, but it already has EA.

Sedona is already under construction, as is downtown Phoenix, 24th street and Camelback. Not Scottsdale, but close. Sedona has EA chargers already.

I'm guessing "Atlanta" is the Cumberland location.

There was a permit for Dateland at some point. Does anybody know if that that site was scrapped in favor of Gila Bend or is Dateland still going to happen eventually?

Rivian has published some new locations as part an update done today. The MyMaps has already been updated.

I keep getting requests to visit their showroom 6 hours away for a test drive. Cancelled my pre order a year ago. I told them I'd happily test drive if it were local, but I'm not driving 12 hours for a 5-10 min test drive. Asked them to leave me alone unless it was local.

SA should be open soon and I think Centerville after that
