I purchased an R1T one year ago, I've been very happy with how the truck handles.
Last week we purchased an R1S and have noticed something my R1T never did.
On roads that are curved, some times just slightly curved, the SUV loses traction and swerves slightly for about 1-2 seconds, then regains traction. The display behind the steering wheel even shows a dashed yellow line on one side of the road, which seems to indicate that the SUV is losing traction and swerving. Anyone else also having this issue.
Like I said, this has NEVER happened in my R1T, and I've driven it way more aggressive than my R1S.
I'm hoping it's something that Rivian and address via an OTA update, but I'm concerned it's something more serious.

For those that are curious, I drive in All Purpose mode, standard height, soft, high regent. I have 22" sport wheels on my R1S.
My R1T has 20" AT.

This sounds more like active lane keep assist to me. Go turn it off in settings under Driver+.

I am not seeing that with mine, the first 2k miles was January from Normal to Boston and then down the east coast, it was snowy, rainy, sand covered roads, and cold, I was pretty impressed with the traction it has. Even the sandy windy backroads in New England were handled great.

I've experienced the exact same thing. Driving in sport mode in the R1S fixes it for me.

It's not driver+.

I definitely prefer the ride of the R1T.

I have experienced no traction issues with my R1S on 22s. I've been very pleased with just how well it sticks, especially for such a heavy vehicle.

If this is the symbol you are seeing then godfodder0901 is correct about this being the LKA:

Thanks for the reply.
Thats not the symbol I'm seeing. On the screen behind the steering wheel showing the Rivian SUV in it's lane, one of the sides of the lane is replaced with thick yellow dashed lines instead of the narrow black line.

I've reached out to Rivian to discuss the problem, I'll post back with their response.

I tried to reproduce it but couldn't. I did get a RED line.
What I'm talking about is a THICK YELLOW DASHED LINE instead of a red line seen in this picture.

Will be interesting to hear what you learn. Based on your descriptions, the yellow dashed line does not seem to be a warning but some sort of lane related indicator. Would be really nice if Rivian published comprehensive details of all their warnings, indicators, graphics, etc. They cover many in the manual but not all.

I've never seen that thick red line or thick dashed yellow line. But I also keep LKA and LDW both turned off.

It seems that LKA doesn’t kick in until you reach a certain speed. 39 might not be fast enough

Make sure the alignment is good. The feel from AT tires can be different. Are you doing the same speed in same corners? But one of those G sensors and get actual readings on same roads? Just throwing ideas.

It's 44mph.

Definitely turn off Lane Keep Assist...
Red is departure warning, yellow is when it is actively 'assisting'. And it needs to be between 44 and 108 to work.

Super interesting. Does that mean it'll do LKA up until the last 3 mph near the top speed of the vehicle? I wonder why that would be. Maybe so that the LKA doesn't kick in when finishing the 1/4 mile at the drag strip. :)
