My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
So - no idea how it took me this long to figure this out, but now that I have, I’m irritated.

When taking a call on bluetooth to a headset (not through the Rivian sound system), audio is totally disabled. Is this new? If not new, is it configurable? Because it’s dumb.

Are you playing music from one of the integrated apps, or from your phone when a call comes in?

If it's the latter, that's a function of your phone.

If it's happening when using one of the integrated apps then this is an interesting situation, I do not believe there's any settings you can change with this outside of not having the phone paired via bluetooth to the truck.

I do not have an R1 yet (hopefully s00n) but I did rent one to get a better feel for it with my daily routine, this is a situation I hadn't considered testing, I used bluetooth music and podcasts from my phone and took calls, which obviously paused the media, but I didn't use the onboard apps or the FM tuner.

I am interested to see where this goes, this is a usecase that doesn't apply to me, but interesting none the less.

I don't use a headset when I am driving the Rivian. When I am driving home from work and listening to music, my wife or my mother will call me and it stops the music and I talk in the truck, not a Bluetooth headset. On your phone (iPhone), there should be an icon you can pick that will switch it from "speakers" (i.e. Rivian) to the headset.....can't remember if that is what the icons are named......I don't use my air pods unless I am working out.

I use AirPods all the time since I’m often in and out of the truck and want to keep it seamless. Also, when others are with me, no point making them listen to the discussion unless they feel like doing my job for me.

I can switch back and forth just fine truck <-> bt headset. But the music doesn’t work either way, as long as there’s an active call.

Interesting.....I never get that many phone call when I am driving....I guess no one likes me....LOLOLOLOL.

It would be nice if it was seamless, but Rivian has no interest in integrating CarPlay or Android Auto so we are stuck with what we get.
