Now that I know the discounts stack and one can be had for under $2500, I’m a lot more interested.

What are the rules for registering in Oregon? Do I need a motorcycle endorsement? I can see this getting use bombing around the neighborhood and shuttling me around some nearby trails.

What are the rules for registering in Oregon? Do I need a motorcycle endorsement? I can see this getting use bombing around the neighborhood and shuttling me around some nearby trails.
From what I read, as long as it is limited to <=30 mph, you don't need an endorsement - which I think is why they limit them to that speed. They are made here in OR so that would make sense.

To be street legal you need to get the ADV which would start around $3k before shipping. I think you can register them as a Moped in OR based on what I could find.

Somehow visiting the UBCO product page ended with me registering for a test drive of a Zero DSR/X. This feels like a dangerous trajectory.

I just got a Cake Bike (electric Moped top speed is 30mph) and decided to register it in OR so i have a rear plate. Requires insurance (got progressive at $75/yr). Feel safer using it in town as I can drive it like a car and go in the middle of the road and has turn signals and headlights. Don't need to worry about car's passing me as I don't ride the bike lane

Yeah, it's easy to get from point A to point G ....
I have a pre-order for a Metacycle too, but the options are getting better for e-street bikes every day. I honestly don't need a street bike either. My wife would kill me before the bike would ....

I have an F800GSA that needs about $5k of work, wife has a Himalayan and wants to ride trails together... so it's pretty hard not to look at skipping $5k in maintenance, plus $5k in incentives at Zero, plus $5k in trade in value... suddenly an expensive new bike is basically saving money ?

Thanks for sharing the code. Agreed that's a pretty good deal compared to the competition. Still trying to rationalize a serious trail ebike as a source of exercise and a way to get out on my land more. But the UBCO not having pedals makes that a little harder to justify for that purpose....
