I used AA for a while in the Silverado. I Was not impressed and quit using it.

Can we stop already with commenting on threads we know we want to go away based on the title?

Seriously, if we don’t like a topic, then the best way to indicate that is to avoid opening the thread, and definitely do NOT give feedback or post a reply. With any luck the thread fades into obscurity quickly and something else which we DO like takes its place.

I'm happy to inform Rivian (who we know visits this forum) that I fully support their decision to stick to their vastly superior internally sourced software platform.

Why should we stop? A huge number of owners want it. RJ himself said if enough want it he would do it. ( Of course we don’t know what “enough” means ). Anyway, I see no harm in using every venue possible to remind Rivian that their infotainment is lacking and that there is a better option available.

Anyway, I see no harm in using every venue possible to remind Rivian that their infotainment is lacking and that there is a better option available.

Not only better - future-proof. 4g radios in the truck won't last forever, but I get a new phone every two years.

Alexa: Proceeds to give directions to a Walgreens in Richmond (over 100 miles in the wrong direction)

Every single day I miss Android Auto / Google Assistant. We wouldn't be clamouring for alternatives if the built-in solution weren't so bad.

It's an adventure vehicle. Just go where it tells you to go

I'd prefer CarPlay if for no other reason than to have access to Google Maps over Mapbox. If Rivian wanted to offer a Google Maps (or even Apple Maps) app option that could be set as default then I could get by just fine without Carplay.
