I'm surprised there's still so many recent VINs that are Launch Editions and Launch Green. I guess they have a some LG paint and LE badges/wristbands left over or something?

It looks to me that Rivian occasionally runs a batch of Launch Editions through their production line, presumably to satisfy their legacy reservation holders. This is based on my experience with my reservation, which is for an R1S LE.

The story is a bit convoluted. I was an R1T Max reservation holder, and changed to the R1S earlier this year when Rivian killed off the quad Max configuration. My delivery date was stuck at "Processing estimate" for months, and though I eventually decided to make a minor change to configuration, I was unable to do so until relatively recently as I was in between guides. When I was finally assigned new guide, I request the config change, which was quickly processed. The email confirming the change, which is still for a Launch Edition, warned that it will result in a delay as the order would have to be assigned to a new production build.

I was allocated VIN 26xxx on September 6th. Picking my FG LE R1T in Denver oN September 29th. I’m very happy and excited

Correct. The vins are not separated for the T and S models. So it’s relevant that VINs are as high as mine.

The R1T and R1S have separate sequence numbers. They are both well into the 20k number now so getting close to 50k R1 builds now if not already past that.

Interesting jumping into this thread now. I'm supposed to pickup my R1S dual motor next Saturday at the factory. Vin is PN017xxx got it assigned a week ago and was told it was essentially immediately ready. I guess I shouldn't be Surprised based off others here. Since that would line up to June/July timeframe for build. Wonder if they built but let them sit waiting for some unique part or maybe to generate enough end of line test data.
