The rollout is a bit odd.

It would be awesome if they focused on ccs deserts like Moab and the upper Midwest.

This will all be irrelevant for Rivian owners in 6 months when CCS adapters are available.
Going to suck when we can’t use those 150kw superchargers in the charging deserts.

Have you done the kokopelli yet?
I haven't done the whole thing but parts of it over the years. I did rabbit valley to westwater this year; dome plateau and rose garden hill trails previously. There are some rough sections near rabbit valley and rose garden hill is probably the most difficult part. Also if it rains the desert clay becomes very nasty!

Anything helps, although the superchargers I really need in my area are V2's ☹

BTW, the Kokopelli Trail between Loma (Fruita, CO) and Moab is NOT Rivian passable. Many miles of single track so don't bother researching this overlanding route.....Spoke to a ranger in the area. You can drive in from the Moab side for some miles but be prepared to dead end. Apparently tight switchbacks requiring short wheelbase rig at Hideout Canyon so you can at least get to that area with a Rivian.

Hmmmm then I wonder why the magic docks? Doesn’t seem Tesla like since they are already making deals with other manufacturers to adopt their plug.
Tesla wants to take your money, just as much as government money.

They are deploying Magic Docks to locations with low usage. They have already sunk the cost into those sites, so adding CCS provides a new revenue stream.

That would be great. Tell them to start putting them in the northern midwest. Huge charging desert.

The bike route and vehicle route are slightly different, but you can still do most of it in a vehicle, primarily starting/ending in rabbit valley instead of Loma and taking sand flats road into Moab instead of the porcupine rim singletrack. My guess is the ranger didn't want you to get into trouble on rose garden hill which is near hideout canyon. There's always the option of modifying how you run the route to not do that section.

A great thing about adding the magic docks to that Moab supercharger site is there's already another site in town that tesla drivers can still claim as their own!

Would love a link to a map or online site where we can explore this in more detail. Would you want to join us on this adventure?
