Was perusing the site and there's quite a few threads dancing around winter tires. This thread is for those who have ordered actual dedicated winter tires and which ones you went with. If you've put mileage on them, any feedback would be awesome.

I'm installing these on November.8th - https://www.nokiantires.com/tires/product-custom-pages/nokian-tyres-hakkapeliitta-lt3/

Winter for me is Whistler, BC and Pac Northwest. I do haul a trailer and this year will try my snowmobile in the bed frequently so I thought I'd go with a bit of extra beef and dedicated winters instead of the 20" Pirelli Scorps the truck came with. I realize max speed is 160km/h which is fine by me for a few months.

Anyone else tried these yet? Or perhaps another other tire on 20" rim for winter? How are they wearing / holding up? Cheers!

I’m in the same boat here for the Seattle to Snoqualmie & Whistler runs this winter (I had a scare last winter on the ATs coming down from Whistler). I don’t have the tires yet, but my research led me to the same tire (Hakka LT3s). I’ve read quite a few good reports of them, and it sounds like mileage is no worse than the factory ATs. I’m still on the fence about buying dedicated wheels for them.

I have a set of these mounted in my garage. Just waiting for November to get some studs installed and mount them on my truck.

yessss that’s a good looking setup, nice man. I am going to pop the tires on the OEM wheels and see how it goes. Still on the fence for which rim package to go as a second set but likely go a bronze wheel on my green R1T.

update mid winter on those EV wheels and range would be sweet. I will do the same.

Well I won't be the one to compare range with ;)

Mine is averaging around 1.6 mi/kWh with my Nitto Recon Grappler's but I also drive around with a sail on my roof.

Most likely it will be little to no difference with the Nokian's compared to the 20" Pirelli's. I know I had seen some reports that Blizzaks gave about the same. A higher pressure since they are LTs can help to mitigate any difference as well.

I travel to and from Vermont in the winter and went with the Nokian Hakka LT3s. They were excellent last winter - a true snow tire with incredible grip. Plowing through snow drifts with these attached to four motors felt like I was in a tracked vehicle.

There was very little wear on them after one season. I took them off in the spring and went back to my 21" wheels.

response of the day awarded - thank you for sharing. Am anticipating similar results and certainly will be putting them to the test on some of the forest service roads here that get a bit dicey.

No 22-inch option for the LT3, so I went with Nokian's HakkaR5 SUV. I'll use them on the OE 22s in November and run that as a dedicated winter set up. I'm in Bend/Central Oregon. Next spring I'll swap out for set of custom forged 20s with all-terrains to run the other three seasons.

No ... they've been great, and I'd still highly recommend. My plan all along was to have forged 20s made for use spring/summer/fall with proper all terrains, then use the 22s with winter tires for the cold/snowy months. The Contis were always meant to be stopgap and have served me well (over 8000 miles on them now, with a 3000 mile trip coming mid-October and another 2000 mile trip in early Nov). I've not truly off-roaded with the TerrainContact ATs, but have done plenty of off pavement stuff (forest roads, trails) and feel way more confident with them than if I'd just run the OE P Zero Sports.

I ran Bridgestone Blizzaks last year. About 10,000 Miles with 1 rotation and also surprising low amount of wear. Western NY snow belt area and also drove on some -30 windchill days and felt very comfortable in them.

I'm hoping to order some Hakka LT3s or Blizzak LTs... If anyone can help weigh one way or the others... =D

I had written this in one of the other threads, but i went with Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV tires in 275/60R20. I live in CT. We typically get decent snowfalls and we take ski trips to VT often. They are mounted to a set of wheels from Tire Rack and sitting in my garage.

I had America's tire mount some Hakka LT3s on Ram 2363s. I didn't try the OEM ATs, went straight for the snow tires. In snow flurries over Donner Pass and around Tahoe, there was nothing but grip. I didn't notice a drop in mileage, but there's also a lot of elevation change to and from the bay.

I am looking into getting these tires as well. I have 22” under my R1S no and I will get 20” tires and Kaltire quoted Fast HD Knuckles with 275/65R20 Hakkapeliitan LT3 for CAD3500 - I have to get tire pressure sensors and Rivian ones are U$380 (4). Someone was saying I should get 60R tires so the speedometer won’t need calibration. Which wheels are you looking into buying ?
