Hi , took my R1S to a shop for PPF but he says he is unable to place the logos back on as the adhesive on the stock logos is too thick. Is there a place to buy replacement parts for this. Thanks in anticipation.

This must not be a very good PPF shop. Plenty of examples in this forum showing factory badges on PPF. What AO offers is color change and pre-spaced letters (something most shops don’t want to spend time on to get right).

Respectfully, being unable to re-apply badges is poor quality work. I’m far from a pro, but if you remove the badges carefully, you just remove the tape by rolling as much as you can off with your thumbs then use GooGone (that orange stuff in a bottle) and/or alcohol to remove the rest from the back of the letters. Then apply some new VHB tape, cut to size and reapply.

You’re in luck I actually just removed the OEM RIVIAN letters from the R1S liftgate and installed the Abtract Ocean ones, so I can help you and your installer out.

Let me retrieve the box and spacing template from my recycling bin.

Can anyone suggest a fair price shipped to help these guys out?

My shop was able to replace the large Rivian in the back but not the smaller badging on the sides and back. I got a quote from Rivian to replace all the badging and it was over $400…. So I didn’t.

This is a very odd reason. I’ve seen plenty of installers that have put the OEM ones back on.

Or if he doesn’t want to go through the trouble of removing and cleaning off the adhesive, some installers will cut around the badging.

I got my PPF done with Advanced Protective Films out of Fountain Valley (think he just moved to a larger location in. Santa Ana). When he removed the stock badging, he used painters tape to carefully mark where every single piece went. It was a cinch to put the Abstract Ocean ones on.

He’s done a few Rivian’s if you want to confer with him.

This excuse makes absolutely no sense. Taking time to get it right is making a template before removing the letters. Taking time to get it right is removing the adhesive and carefully and skillfully cut and apply new double sided tape, then use templates he made to put each letter back where they belong; lined up and spaced right. Your guy doesn’t want to take the time, wants to cut you loose by saying “it can’t be done”, so he can take your money and move on to other customers. Should have picked an installer that have done other Rivians.
