Point proven
It's sad that you think this is proof of some imagined elitism. The fact of the matter is this truck for me represents a reasonably priced daily commuter. This was a budget choice for me, not a status purchase. Buying this truck allowed me to not have a diesel truck AND a sports car. It fits both needs well enough for me that I actually saved money buying it. How could it be elitism when this truck doesn't at all confer status for me?

I'm perfectly fine with Rivian creating more premium levels than the one I have, and giving extra software for them. It doesn't bother me at all, because I don't need to feel like my truck is "the same" as a superior trim level. I don't have this hopeless sense of inadequacy to address that I fill with material goods instead of working on myself. That would be you, who spent the last 20 pages of this thread arguing his lower performance, different badged, and different mode truck was exactly the same.

It's beyond pathetic how hard you're grasping at straws here. I know it's easier to attack me for taking a position of business sense in product sales instead of looking in that mirror but it's just not getting it done.

Now that you have told me everything you went through with your vehicle decision I really am starting to empathize with your views on everything. I can’t imagine what it was like to be torn between a diesel truck and a sports car. Please tell me more about your big bank account and all the money you saved with this purchase. Gtfo of here

Wow jealousy is an ugly color. I'm just speaking facts of mine, if hanging around people who have more than you do disgusts you so perhaps you should have bought a Corolla instead of a car that has a 100K dollar price tag. This is really sad for you.

I honestly can’t tell if you’re just trying to troll at this point. If not, you should say you are. It would look better.

I'm not worried about the way I look. I'm not the one who's jealous of others. If I cannot speak honestly about my purchasing decisions without someone getting all in his feelings about it this forum would really be going down the tubes. I insulted no one, it's your own insecurities that are the problem here. You are the only one who could fix that, and I am not the one responsible for your feelings.

I've talked about my purchasing decisions many times in this forum before and not a single person took issue with it like you did. Honestly you aren't going to do well here if you cannot tolerate someone who has more than you do. There are people here with more than me too, so what. Concern yourself with your own life, not mine.

You are really toxic. Have fun with your super premium truck social status.

Getting past all the back and forth... It's been addressed it was a software glitch. The thing you guys do need to understand, is like it or not, the motors are just one aspect used to differentiate the trims, the software will undoubtedly have features that further cater to specific trims, but the baseline experience will likely remain.

Regardless of buying power, envy, or just stubbornness, Rivian will love you.

Ps

My favourite part of this was the serious question to a guide "am I a lesser customer" who asks that?

Whatever makes you feel better. Blame me for your feelings of inadequacy. That'll fix them.

You pay less, you receive less. It’s all about marketing.

It’s the same regarding basic warranty coverage. You get 1 year less warranty coverage with a Dual Motor.

TLDR to the 20 pages:
It‘s a bug, or maybe a change of heart by Rivian, but standard dual motor will get the instrumentation display.

The majority agree that moving forward, like it or not, virtual displays will probably define a trim level and additional cost.

In other news, the Phillies will win the NL Championship in six games.
