That’s what I understood as well. I turned off Bluetooth on my phone just in case tooI had the OTA fail at 90% as well, like many others here. I just ended a chat with Rivian, and he instructed me to put the vehicle into a deep sleep mode so it will be ready to receive the OTA fix once it's ready. The plan at this point is to automatically push the OTA fix to affected VINs without any required action on the part of the owner, if I understood that correctly.
You’re lucky. I have a 7,200 pound paperweight in the garageMy Rivian was bugging me all day to update and when I went to install it a minute ago, the update has disappeared. I think it's been pulled.
No one really remembers the PAAK going down back in April. Worse situation because some were stuck away from home. They were able to get it fixed in about 5 hours and people forgave and forgot after a couple days of bad press. I’d imagine it will be the same thing if we all wake up to a fixed truck in the morning. If those impacted need tows or mobile service and that takes days or weeks to resolve, then I would expect there to be a big hit To their reputation. This is gonna be all over the interwebs tomorrow … Electrek, Jalopnik, Fox, et al are gonna have a field day with this. Fuel for the EV haters, wonder if stock will take a hit? I sure hope Rivian pulls a rabbit out of their hat and resolves this quickly! ? ?
Thought the speedo still works fine. And the reverse cam.an honest mistake that gets people killed acceptable? I'd say that's a bit dramatic, but having people drive around with no speedo probably isn't the best idea either
I never heard of this story. That was 1998 and Ironically if that happened today Disney would fire that employee for having their highly valuable IP on an unsecured personal computer ?Have you guys heard of how Toy Story 2 was almost deleted, moments before release?
Luckily someone (on maternity leave) had a backup on their home computer. Saved the whole movie!
Imagine that mistake!

I blame the rushed fix for dual motor gauge view.Wee….first update that failed to install for me.
Edited to add: Looks like others in the Rivian Reddit sub have been stuck at 90 and fail like mine did. Some even indicating they don’t see the update anymore so it may have been pulled.
Man, I can’t imagine the feeling of having your stomach drop after realizing what just happenedIt happen more recently with gitlab as well:

My Hindu friend on the Sevice Chat said ”Just drive it to service center for repair” I explained it is 145 mile and raining the next two days. I have no idea what systems are functioning. He repeated, ”But sir you have Lyft/Uber credit” Jeez
