Seats coming apart...again

When I took delivery of my truck back in August 2022, there was exposed seat stuffing because some of the leather parts were just cut too small for the front seats, and they couldn't reach parts they were supposed to. Rivian was great and replaced both seats for me with new ones. Well, now, one year later, things are separating again. It looks different from the first problem, which was clearly a bad cut. Now it just looks like it's pulling away. This is on the passenger seat, too, which isn't used nearly as much as my own is. This isn't normal, right?

Follow the metal trim, from left to right. As soon as the trim begins on the left, look at the bottom. As soon as the trim curves up, look at the border along the top. You can see white peeking through, which is the foam/stuffing behind the seating surface.

Yeah, I could be overreacting. My truck has had so many little build issues that I can't help but feel like I'm just nitpicking now.

I would say it isn't ideal, but personally I would accept it. But if it gets worse, I would ask Rivian to address down the road.

Document it, keep an eye on it, but at this point you run the risk of creating other issues trying to get seats/seat covers replaced. My two cents anyway.

Take a tongue depressor and push the foam back in. You have to look pretty hard to notice that problem. Or, sit in the seat with a screw driver in your back pocket and poke a hole in the seat cover when you get out. that way your eye will always see the hole and you won't see the very minor imperfections elsewhere in the seat. I know it works because I did that in my 3 year old Subaru leather seat. I no longer notice the creases where the leather has worn a little.
