Hi all,
Having taken delivery of the R1S about 2 weeks ago, I must say there are some really cool features I haven't seen in other cars, such as the proximity garage door opening. What a great idea.
But I also have some functionality enhancement requests. I don't know what the formal process is or if there is something set up already, but I thought it would be good to have a way to provide feedback back to Rivian. Here are a few things that I would love to be included in the next update cycle:
1) Remember my last heated steering and heated seats setting so I don't need to turn it on everytime. It's likely that if it's cold enough that I needed to turn them on, the next day when I drive I will still need them.
2) As with the locked heated seats icon on the bottom of the screen, please also add the heated steering wheel as dedicated icon (or give me the option). For the same reason as 1) I don't want to to multiple taps and take my eyes off the road so much.
3) Please move the play/pause screen for Spotify to the left of the screen. It's all the way on the passenger side, makes it hard to be accurate and take my eyes further away from the road.
4) Add the odometer and trip settings to the main screen (there is a lot of space). Allow the right buttons to adjust the settings if people don't want to see the odometer or trip odometer. But it's embedded now in the About screen and on the phone. It would be nice not to have to take out the phone or navigate multiple screens to get to the info, when a glance would do it.
5) I know Rivian won't do CarPlay, but how about enabling native Google Maps or Waze like Spotify. Maybe also open up so developers can build other apps like the iphone eco system. It will help all of us Rivian owners but provide an additional revenue stream to them and developers that come up with cool apps. Everybody benefits.
Here's my initial list. Hopefully we can keep this to mainly a list and less about critiquing each one. This way if somehow we can have Rivian take notice, they can read through them and decide which ones are worth including.
