… it’ll be a lot easier to wrap, because the panels are all flat. TAKE THAT, RIVIAN STANS.

<I’ll see myself out>
And you can do your own body repairs with some sheet metal and pop rivets. It’s ugly to the bone.

I'd say the biggest benefit of a cybertruck is you don't really have to worry about the body.

You can likely dent a Rivian using a single finger due to how thin the body panels are.
Yeah... I cringe when people lean on my truck... The R1 has the thinnest skin of any vehicle I have ever owned; closely followed by the new F150s. The fact that Tesla is so thick-skinned... AND is a lighter truck is impressive.

All that said, the 1 big thing for me is the 48v LV system. Removing the horrid 12v weakness the R1 and other EVs suffer is huge.

I am super hoping Rivian follows suit...

Claire said this week that the R1 line will be receiving new, overhauled batteries during the factory shutdown coming in April. They may be upgrading the architecture.

I will add that the door skins do not tolerate even the slightest tapping of the protective bollards by charging stations.
I'll second that motion as it's verified truth (don't ask me how I know this one). :rolleyes:

Supposedly has a better windshield (on paper) compared to the sugar glass that Rivian uses.... Air suspension speed and travel is obviously better too. Inside looks cheap as can be compared to Rivian but hey it's Tesla! I'd love to have a frunk similiar to the F150 or CT though.

I can't wait to see all the funny pictures of seriously crooked inspection stickers from trying to reach multiple feet to apply them.

Agreed, the 12v is a joke but we're basically beta testers for this company and it will be years and several iterations before they eventually nail it with leading specs.

What kind of suspension is the Cybertruck using and how does it compare with the McLaren-based cross-linked hydraulic suspension of the R1T in real-life driving?

I agree with the F150 Frunk comment... hell no to the CT Frunk. That thing is too tiny. The Lightning really nailed the frunk .. from the size, lowered from but still a decent lip .. and the power options.

Early indications are that the suspension is very similar to the R1's, in most aspects.

This is great. The more vehicles on the road with these higher-tech suspensions the easier the parts will be to source in the long term, and the more the aftermarket is likely cater to us.

Good stuff.
