ours includes a direct to fuse panel power setup.
Can you confirm that the screen will run off the USB-C port in the center console? In an earlier post here you implied that it would, but PangPang77 is making me wonder...

Just tested, unfortunately the Rivian USB-C in the center console is weak sauce. Not enough juice. Good news is our kit includes a plug and play power solution, so you dont need the center console USB-C.

Now I'm going to be annoying...What about the back seat USB-C ports? Do either of them work? I'm not concerned (I'm buying it anyway), but I am curious. If it's too much of a hassle to test it I can wait until it's here.

I (and others, I'm sure) appreciate you promptly testing it and letting us know. Now we know why the power supply using the fuse box comes with the unit rather than making it an optional accessory!

FYI, the cigarette lighter under the dash DOES work, using a cigarette lighter to USB adapter, if you have the cigarette lighter port....

The dash and frunk 12v’s was a great feature for the lucky ones that got early VINs. Loosing the 12v due to costs savings is bonkers. But I recall Rivian saying it was removed because customers weren’t using it. Regardless, I think it was an always-on power port or at least until the vehicle went to sleep.

I’m curious about the power tap at the fuse. Always on? Off at sleep? Off at end of drive cycle?

Yeah - my R1S is too new to have those "old school" 12V lighter ports. I may plug it to the 120V in the second row (I still have one of those) and run the power cord along the floor next to the driver's seat if I don't want to do the fuse box option to start.

on and off with the truck. Basically boots when I walk up and jump in to drive. Shuts off when i walk away and lock doors.

Not sure if this was discussed before: will you need to disconnect this unit from the power supply to safely do any Rivian OTA updates, or can you still do the OTA updates without having to disconnect from the power source?

You don’t have to disconnect any other BlueTooth devices when you update, so I would not think so. It only connects to the vehicle through RivianAudio.

Hi y'all. I ordered 2 sets of your CarPlay & Android Auto Smart Dash Screens. Any idea when they will be shipped out? Thanks y'all.
Still loving your roll-up tonneau cover.

GaiaGPS and OnXOffRoad both support CarPlay according to their websites. I’m also interested in these apps for forest service road use.

They also support AndroidAuto. Not sure how well GaiaGPS does with this looking at their user support articles.

Gaia works in my Mach E with CarPlay, I tested it. But I do not need it with tha car.

I don't believe the unit connects to the Rivian at all (except power). Audio goes from phone to car.
