I just got off the phone with my guide. He confirmed 1020 - available in a couple weeks - and said I could get the PTC for $1900 but I would have to wait at least 6 months. Decisions Decisions….

Wow when I talked to them PTC had no price and hinted it would be way more than that, IE full pop so around 4000.

I looked it up and yeah originally the powered tonneau was $1910

That makes the decision tough for sure. The powered tonneau was something I always wanted but I was worried from Day 1 it would just break and be an expensive problem later in the vehicles life.

Realistically I'm thinking I'll roll up the tonneau 5-6 times a year at most. Probably not worth the risk.

The PTC is very cool and I had it in my original configuration but I agree with you. Even with the redesign it seems a bit risky and like you I will only be using it a handful of times. Also, my guide quoted a very round number - 1900 - so I am not 100% comfortable with his answer.
I am parking outside so don’t really want the bed exposed all winter so I’m leaning towards the manual.

Just a heads up that if you work for a US company the financing part will stall out. The site wants to know the address of your company, but will only accept Canadian addresses.

My guide is looking to get this fixed but no updates as of yet.

I can’t image using the manual tonneau, what a pain pulling individual slats out and storing them. I have ordered and already taken delivery of the weather tech (Lomax) tri fold hard tonneau cover. A much better option than the Rivian Manual Tonneau in my opinion.

How long is it taking to get responses from guides for questions regarding Ontario deliveries?

I spoke to mine yesterday but I had to schedule a call a day in advance.

He told me that there are 3 guides in Vaughan and that they are trying to deliver 50 R1s next week. They are swamped.

That being said he is pretty good responding to emails.

thanks for the quick response. I figured they’d be swamped. I just decided to take an earlier deliver in lieu of the max pack I’d been waiting for to take advantage of the year end charger credits. I was hoping they’d be able to squeeze it in. ?

Ha I talked to my guide last Thursday and Monday and I want to get delivery next week and was assured it should happen but here I sit waiting to find out. I don't want to put insurance on and send money if it won't happen.

Regarding the free charger, I filled out the form that was emailed etc, but my Guide said they don't know how to deliver that or if it's even possible. There is no shop in Canada and so they have no method to deliver accessories. I'm like it says canada right on the terms and conditions... someone will figure this out I would hope.

Supposed to be free - but I need to confirm that my guide removed the $670 charge from my account.
Also - re payment - I was told that I could show up with a certified cheque. No need to pay in advance.

So strange I was told the opposite, that it was faster to pay online.

I'm just missing the insurance piece right now maybe that's what's holding up my paperwork. But I don't know what day to enable insurance for! My insurance provider said once I pick a day I can't change it back.

Talked to our guide a few times this week. Easy to get a hold of , although he's located in Vancouver so I guess we wont see him in Vaughn. Scheduled to pick up on Saturday, got the last spot till boxing day , which still had openings as of yesterday. The only hiccup was their online payment platform. They've been having some tech issues and we might have to get a bank draft. Oh well. Aug. 21 preorder, LG, FE, 21's from the r1 shop?
