I just got off the phone with my guide. He confirmed 1020 - available in a couple weeks - and said I could get the PTC for $1900 but I would have to wait at least 6 months. Decisions Decisions….$800 usd I think? It's $1020 cdn pre hike and $2500 now.
The PTC is very cool and I had it in my original configuration but I agree with you. Even with the redesign it seems a bit risky and like you I will only be using it a handful of times. Also, my guide quoted a very round number - 1900 - so I am not 100% comfortable with his answer.Wow when I talked to them PTC had no price and hinted it would be way more than that, IE full pop so around 4000.
That makes the decision tough for sure. The powered tonneau was something I always wanted but I was worried from Day 1 it would just break and be an expensive problem later in the vehicles life.
Realistically I'm thinking I'll roll up the tonneau 5-6 times a year at most. Probably not worth the risk.
I can’t image using the manual tonneau, what a pain pulling individual slats out and storing them. I have ordered and already taken delivery of the weather tech (Lomax) tri fold hard tonneau cover. A much better option than the Rivian Manual Tonneau in my opinion. The PTC is very cool and I had it in my original configuration but I agree with you. I am parking outside so don’t really want the bed exposed all winter so I’m leaning towards the manual.
I spoke to mine yesterday but I had to schedule a call a day in advance. How long is it taking to get responses from guides for questions regarding Ontario deliveries?
thanks for the quick response. I figured they’d be swamped. I just decided to take an earlier deliver in lieu of the max pack I’d been waiting for to take advantage of the year end charger credits. I was hoping they’d be able to squeeze it in. ?I spoke to mine yesterday but I had to schedule a call a day in advance.
He told me that there are 3 guides in Vaughan and that they are trying to deliver 50 R1s next week. They are swamped.
That being said he is pretty good responding to emails.
Ha I talked to my guide last Thursday and Monday and I want to get delivery next week and was assured it should happen but here I sit waiting to find out. I don't want to put insurance on and send money if it won't happen.thanks for the quick response. I figured they’d be swamped. It’s possible!! I got a tracking number email from UPS. Regarding the free charger, I filled out the form that was emailed etc, but my Guide said they don't know how to deliver that or if it's even possible. There is no shop in Canada and so they have no method to deliver accessories. I'm like it says canada right on the terms and conditions... someone will figure this out I would hope.
Supposed to be free - but I need to confirm that my guide removed the $670 charge from my account.Wow for a purchased or free charger?
Maybe I should just pay them for my truck
So strange I was told the opposite, that it was faster to pay online.Supposed to be free - but I need to confirm that my guide removed the $670 charge from my account.
Also - re payment - I was told that I could show up with a certified cheque. No need to pay in advance.
