I took delivery of our R1S in late September. From day 1 switching between screens (bottom icons) is really slow / unresponsive and I often have to tap 2, 3 or even 4 times to get a response. It is frustrating and occasionally dangerous as it diverts attention from the road. Are others seeing this? Software updates have not made a difference. My truck is going in for service next week and if this is atypical I will add it to the ticket. While I am happy with the Rivian, This is my biggest disappointment with the truck

Not normal - definitely add it to your ticket

I have noticed the initial switch from screen to screen after waking up has been slower lately. Once that first press is completed for the drive, it toggles pretty fast from screen to screen.

First time loading a screen after a software update tends to be slow, same for first day/night change. Never have to hit it multiple times, just have to wait.

Unfortunately with how frequently they are updating things, it tends to make it pretty frequent.

Then it's not normal and you should definitely put in a service ticket. Like others above, mine is almost always pretty snappy after the first time through the screens after a sleep cycle or OTA.

I also am somewhat disappointed with slow switching between screens.

I generally drive with the map screen up, when I pull in our driveway and want to open the Frunk I switch to that screen.. many times my passengers actually get to the front of the vehicle before I can even access the Frunk open button on that particular screen... they have to wait. It's kind of embarrassing to the point where I now switch to the unlock doors/Frunk screen before pulling in the driveway.

Atom processor slow ?

I had the issue a while ago and I called it in. I was told to do a full reboot and that fixed it. I have a video of me proving it was broken after the reboot and was surprised that it worked as intended.

I was told that searching the manual was buggy and slow… and it still was at the time. (not sure now…)

I have only experienced screen render delays soon after each OTA and this has been communicated as normal behavior since each screen is re-rendered and cached. Never experienced laggy response to UI interaction. If neither soft nor hard reset changes your experience, then something is likely amiss. Raise issues with Support.

Same issues, even after updates. Sometimes better if use long hold pushes.

Looking at a new Range Rover today. All the glitches on Rivian are enough. Why be annoyed in a car everyday you drive it?

If you have Alexa enabled, just have her do it. Pretty instantaneous

Two or three taps is the new normal on mine since 46. I haven’t found any magic words to have Alexa change screens except to navigate to a new destination.
