1 week into R1S ownership. Overall, It has been great. Car has some panel gaps but that stuff doesn't bother me or my wife as much. Just a couple of questions I haven't found definite answers to and a couple of non-dealbreakers I am hoping will get fixed over time.
1) Heating - I live in the northeast and it has been impossible to get the heating just right. I usually leave my cars (have 2 tesla's, audi and a mini cooper) at 70 deg. With Rivian - it blows cold air at 70 and blasts hot at at 73 -75. This has been the most annoying part of my ownership so far. I have been driving by turning on and off the heater manually. I am hoping a update will fix this in the future.
2) Charging port app access - I haven't fund a app access to open the charging port. So, I have been unlocking the car and touching the "open area" to get it to open. I really hope they change this in the future app update. I don't want to be touching salt, ice, bumper all winter long. Do people have other alternatives to do this?
3) Vampire Drain - This has been the most concerning part. We have been losing anywhere from 4-6% a day just sitting in our garage with everything turned off. I have read hours and hours of posts trying to see if there is anything else I can do to help this. We have two tesla's in the same garage that lose about 1% a day. I am not sure what the car is using all that energy for...? That 6-7 KWH a day just sitting there. What has worked for people here?
There are a few other quirks but nothing major.
