Loud Rattling and Loose sounding suspension.

Anyone else have issues with what sounds like a loose suspension or something, I’m having some very loud noises and a rough ride coming from the front right wheel area. Brand new R1T with only 1500 miles. I’ve already submitted the service ticket and have an appointment in February but man this sounds like it’s gonna fall apart.

To be honest…that’s what mine sounds like on a rough road at 12800 miles. But something does sound rattley for sure. Wouldn’t hurt to have them check it.

That doesn't sound normal. While Rivian's suspension and ride isn't like car based SUVs... say Lexus or BMW even but my R1S at 3300 miles isn't doing that. That rattling sound like as if your shock top mount is worn out and rattling like it has 200k miles.

Take it in for service. That sounds like a line or something that’s causing a rattle. I don’t think it’s the suspension. It doesn’t sound major.

Raise the vehicle up and check for loose bolts.

I can hear some rattling but hard to tell if it is suspension-related. The suspension on R1S is rather noisy and I will also be taking mine to service center to look at the noise (squeaking over bumps) as well as some door panel rattling.

did that and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, to my untrained eye.

Let’s hope it’s not anything major, and hopefully they can find something to fix.

I'm hearing some deeper thunking in mine especially going diagonally across driveway ramps or speedbumps. Mine sounds like there's some play or something.

This sounds higher pitched though. Maybe something is loose.

Mine has always sounded like a 1992 Ford Aerostar with worn out bushings

I've had them look at it several times and they say it's just how it is because ThE sUsPeNsIoN iS sPeCiAl

I don't have that high pitched rattle in the vid, but I suspect the phone may not have captured the full spectrum of the noise.

Suspension noise is a common complaint with no clear cause or fix

In the second picture, it looks like the metal retaining clip is detached from the upper control arm.

Yep, trying to help OP diagnose with example pics to take and things to look for. The above are from a problem I had last year.

@Killercow77 were you able to get this resolved by service? I’ve got what sounds like the exact same issue. Brought it into Rivian service, but annoyingly they said they weren’t able to replicate the sound. They did check things like the suspension and found no issues.

yup service did fix it, there was something loose and not tightened properly with the front right tire. Best I can remember was it having to do with something called a torque something? Sorry I know that doesn’t help much but they did resolve the issue.
