I plan on getting the subscription assuming the cost isn't stupid. I want the ability to watch TV in the truck for both charging and if I wind up getting somewhere for an appointment early I can watch some. Often times I leave my house later than I should for stuff because I don't want to be sitting around there waiting. I could plan on being earlier if I had something to do while waiting.

If I have to pay to stream Spotify or TuneIn, they'd better offer some way to play music over USB. Bluetooth music from the phone is NOT the same. Quality sucks, it's cuts our periodically and most annoyingly, there's no way to navigate your music through it.
"Adventure Vehicle" tethered to the internet....

We need new maps, not Satellite Images of these crappy existing outdated maps. Or let me screen mirror Waze/Google maps while driving...
Agree 100% it's the only thing on our awesome vehicles that I hate! We have this beautiful 16" screen and I use it to view temps and things on my truck instead of having it be an awesome guidance system!

you can still stream from your phone over bluetooth.
this bluetooth interface sucks. because it can't read the metadata embedded in each properly formatted music file, creating libraries or genre-based searches is not possible. sound fidelity is also not as good as reading that damn file from the stick.

but that's how it is now. Maybe they will have USB audio eventually.
I've had this functionality on all my cars/trucks/motorcycles for over 10 years - except for the R1T. So, sorry, but I just do not want to accept 'that's how it is now'.

Well that's your choice for sure. You don't have to accept it but Rivian doesn't have to add it either. My 2015 Highlander doesn't have that option neither did my GTI so I guess I don't see need for it for me.

So no playing audio files from USB Storage + no USB Audio + no headphone-in jack = pay twice for streaming audio?
you can still stream from your phone over bluetooth.
…”pay twice?” That really hurts to think of. Makes me miss the days before streaming music. Bluetooth with Rivian is not a good option since you can’t search your library on the Rivian screen.

I’m okay with paying for data connectivity, I already do it with Tesla and I figured they can’t continue to give it free forever. I’m sure it will be priced competitively with Tesla as well. Good news is entertainment options are on the way.

Also out of left field but does the rear A/C monitor/screen have the functionality to display future entertainment? Granted it would be small but is it capable?

Entertainment options are nice, hopefully its native apps like how spotify is; streaming via casting sounds less appealing.
