I moved the driver’s seat back for the install. I was flexible enough, even at my age, to install the fuse tap. I’m pretty stoked about my flexibility.

Just arrived. Install took a few mins to get the bracket seated properly. Used 12v under dash (no fuse hook up).

Not wanting to scratch the wood by using screwdrivers (as shown in the install video) to hold up the dash pad enough to insert the bracket.. I lifted the pad up with a plastic pry tool and inserted a standard "AA" battery on either side of where the bracket will go under the dash pad. Being a smooth cylinder, there was pretty much no way for the "AA" batts to scratch the wood dash panel.

Used the screen for the first time while driving this morning... the sun was behind me, the sun glare on the screen was pretty bad, even at full brightness it was hard to make out small details on the screen. FWIW- I have the white OC interior so that didn't help either as my white seats were very prominent on the screen.

@EV Sportline maybe consider adding a piano hinge to the bracket design so we can tilt the screen up or down a bit to negate sun glare?

Anyone knows how to update it to Android Auto 11.1? I don't think it has OTA built in.

I noticed the glare on my R1T. So did my wife on the unit I installed on her R1S. We both thought it was pretty bad.

I think someone posted an Amazon link for matte screen protectors? I'm going to try those.

A hinge is a good idea, but in my installation I might have to pop open the dash again to expose some additional wire slack.

Installed this a couple of weeks ago and everything is great except for a few minor issues most of them resolved:
1 - I really had to contort my 74 YO body to get a clear view of the fuse box, but once there it was easy to install.
2 - I may go back and do the "across-dash" wire routing to avoid having the wire bundle hanging in the footwell over the brake pedal
3 - I found out that the fuse that is taken out is for the USB-C ports in the center console, which makes sense, but it would have been nice to know in advance so i could unmount the DriveCam SSD before i started working on the install. As it was I got an error message next time i put the car in drive and had to unplug and replug the SSD. I could easily have missed the error message.
4 - i have not yet found out how to play the navigation instructions through the in-car speakers while listening to the radio. The only way it works consistently for me is to listen to iPhone audio through the car, which will lower the audio volume while giving nav instructions. Problem for me since i listen to the radio 95%+ of the time i drive.

@EV Sportline When the car wakes up each morning to precondition, the unit steals Bluetooth audio output to my phone, even though my phone is 30 feet away. I wonder if there is a way to prevent this from happening. Don’t connect if the signal is weak? Can I disable the unit as an audio device?

anyone having issues with the auto dim feature? I have it enabled at set for 5pm to 6am but mine seems to be stuck on night/dim mode. Playing with the times and toggling the setting didn't change anything. I am assuming I am missing something obvious

@EV Sportline how bright does the screen get (e.g. in nits), and is it fully laminated?

Got mine today. Installed in about half an hour (routed wire under dash pad to the door and behind end of dash, completely hiding wiring). Have only tried it out in my garage, but seems to work well.

One thing I noticed last night: I turned the vehicle outlets on overnight to power a cooler my wife needed to use this morning. The display did not turn off. I had to turn it off manually via the button at the top.

Not a big deal, but just something of which to be aware.

I had this happen to mine, so turned off the auto dimming. Not sure why it quit working. I really do not like the clock trigger anyway.
