I find it incredibly satisfying that the local tv station cared enough to air the video and doubly impressive that that a neighboring PD cared enough to ID the suspect and follow up

Here in San Francisco broken windows are so commonplace that investigative follow up and prosecution is nonexistent. Mark Rober did a whole series of YouTube videos with bait cars and glitter bombs. The final installment has 21M views. But, zero mention of prosecution of the criminals.

the black door trim for over 700 you are showing on your bill @Groshyubcha, i would question...
First of all, i had mobile service come and replace that rubber trim because the adhesive was not holding it all the way around the door frame and that rubber part was loose. Explain to me how is that rubber trim need replacing when the guy broke in and did not open the door.
I am mad for you, but they are trying to milk you for $$$ i think.

The Montgomery County police officer called Philadelphia to follow up on the DC number. He told me that they did not even file a police report yet! Meanwhile, Montgomery county is trying to prosecute this guy for earlier crimes.
You are right Philadelphia county is a pretty backwards place right now. Maybe the new mayor will make a difference.

Hopefully but I doubt it since the current DA is one of the Soros funded soft on crime attorneys. Shame Philadelphia is a one party state so no competition.

My kids showed me this. In fact: in his always-kind way, Mark directly put a bullseye over the critical issue (for SF): there's a fencing operation the size of a regular store!, right on the street in plan view, that all the thieves go to to immediately dump the merchandise. One place. And it remains completely open. All the SF gov. needs to do is shut down that operation, and thieves will have little market for most of the stuff they steal. Break-ins will still occur in SF -- lots of issues there -- but the rate would definitely drop with fencing interception, in lieu of tracking down each and every thief.

Definitely need some government intervention!

I had to replace the tailight cover area i broke... Did not file the claim, as quote on repair was $2300. plus... Actual repair cost, including all the cameras re-calibrated, was $1600.+, and I saved my "accident forgiveness" for a bigger issue. Repairs are pricey on these vehicles. Its a fact. But it won't always be... we're the Pioneers, sent ahead to pave the trail... At my age, it's paving is long overdue. Watch the documentary Whatever happened to the Electric car?" You'll see the NUMBER 1 reason this is so pricey, greed in the fossil fuels industry wants these to fail... again... It's a scary and sad review on power... wish everyone had seen it... Good luck to you going forward, it's not easy being a Pioneer, but it comes with great satisfaction as others follow behind you.

It's under your comprehensive, it shouldn't affect your rate.

In what universe!? ANYTHING the insurance companies can use to justify raising your rates and/or drop you and they will.

Last June when I priced getting auto insurance through Rivian via Nationwide, they wouldn't offer me a policy unless I dropped my 19 year old daughter in college from the policy who has a PERFECT driving record and good student discount! According to my independent insurance agent, it was probably due to the accident where some other girl backed into her in a parking lot where THE OTHER insurance company accepted fault and paid it; i.e. now you don't even need to be the cause of an accident to get negatives consequences. SMH

And, yes our premiums went up 32% 6 months later. Coincidence? #not

That repair bill is batshit crazy and I think it's obvious by looking at the labor prices Rivian service centers are trying to increase profitability. 5hrs for 'calibration and reset' ON A BACK WINDOW REPLACEMENT. 1hr for a 'post repair scan'.

These are the things that increase insurance rates across the board.

These repair costs I have been reading about are really crazy high. Makes me worry in the long term about the cost to maintain and repair. I’m not going to out of warranty Keep my R1S beyond the warranty period.
