Sounds like a possible mass-Riviot sighting waiting to happen. Like the line out of Ghostbusters, "Human Sacrifice! Dawgs 'n Ducks, living together! Mass Hysteria!"

https://www.google.com/search?q=Bil...ate=ive&vld=cid:5943b107,vid:-9NMt42il4Q,st:0

The first time I heard that line in the movie, I thought... "Apple Cup!" For those who don't know, that is the game between the Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars.

Think how much fun we could have making a video of peace and harmony in the college football world to send to the folks at Rivian. If we can make that happen, World peace can't be far away.

Of course, we'd have to make the video before the game. After that, all bets are off!
?
Sean,

As it turns out, I have a close friend in Atlanta I was visiting with on the phone over the weekend. I like the thought of a long Labor Day weekend to attend that game! I've been to one all-SEC game with a childhood buddy who lived near Fayetteville, and he took me to an Arkansas - South Carolina in Little Rock. Even though it was several hours from campus, I'd never seen tailgating like that before.

His wife and her parents were along on the sojourn, as well. As we walked by the sea of motorhomes and school flags filling the War Memorial Stadium parking lot, several hours before the game, I made the mistake of saying "Wow! These people must have set up really early this morning to get all that barbecuing started!" Her Dad, a kind and gentle man, was ahead of me on the sidewalk. He stopped immediately, spun around and declered loudly and clearly, "Son! This is the S. E. C. ! These people have been here since Thursday!"

I could almost hear each period in that statement. Luckily, his wife was much more compassionate towards me. As her husband spun back to continue leading our march towards the restaurant, I could hear her words of kindness when she quietly told her daughter "Well, isn't he precious? That boy is special!"

Yep! I get it now. All of it. Words have multiple meanings, and college football is a religion in the South. Yeah, lots of fans all over the country thinking "we've got a rabid fanbase!" I know, I think the same thing about my school, but it's not like the S. E. C. Not. Even. Close.

When I share this with my friends down there, I want them to know just how much I love them and their parents, and kids, and grandkids. The words above attributed to her mother are a stretch for comedic effect, but they would've been well-deserved. Her father's words? VER. BA. TIM. Well, his life lesson stuck. I believe that was the Fall of '97, and I can still hear his voice, and each one of those periods. Loudly. And. Clearly.

All told, they're some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet in a lifetime of looking. Made me feel like family the instant I met each and every one of the extended family over the decades. Warms my heart to think about them every day.

Be well, Chuck & Pam! ❤

It’s news to me, never seen that option in a pickup before, obviously because there was no gear tunnel in another truck before, so I think it’s awesome. Why the saltiness?
Not salty. Just sharing that I'm surprised how surprised people are.

Tomorrow: We get seatbelts! (yes, that's sarcasm)

Oh, bless your Northwestern heart. Heheh. Said, of course, with a similar tone as your friend’s mother in law said, ”he’s so precious.“… yes, football is religion down here, and tailgating can be days long events. If you’re ever in Birmingham the week of a NASCAR race at Talledega, take a drive over there on Tuesday or Wednesday and you’ll see RVs and tents covering many fields outside the track.

As a native Arkansan and die hard Razorback fan, I can tell you I was at that Arkansas/South Carolina game. (It wasn’t a good outcome for the home team.)

Glad you enjoyed some Southern hospitality! Woopig!

My friend's family only lived out here for about six years, but it was during junior high and high school. Those were very formative years with lifelong bonds built with the entire family. That Southern grace and hospitality was always on display in their home, along with that rich humor. Their's was always that one home no one questioned if you were invited over to play or stay.

That was in the Frank Boyles days in the old Southwest Conference and watching or listening to football on Saturdays took on a greater meaning than before. We had but five channels, and PBS and college football were, and still are, complete strangers.

Fond memories churned up nicely by this conversation. Much appreciated and I'm guessing we'll have some Sunday contact as the season moves on. I'm really thinking about that season opener for next year. Had reservations and tickets planned for all 12 games, and any post-season last year, to follow my Ducks, including air & hotel (only needed for a few games, because of the schedule) and then.......well, you know.

Better safe than sorry, and maybe next year is that year, starting in Atlanta. Let's all hope those brighter days ahead are nearer than they seem. I'd love to hit every game in the R1T, likely not UGA in Atlanta, however. Then again, never say never. With friends in Arkansas, Texas, and all along the way, that might be the perfect Adventure.

Thanks again for helping to rehash those memories, and we'll visit again soon!

I'd probably consider a 5 point harness option... Would go well with Rally Mode.

I'm a bit surprised over the surprise people have over this revelation? Lots of cars and SUVs have pass-through holes hidden behind center arm rests, to allow long items to overfill into the cabin, or for a rear passenger to grab something from the trunk/cargo area. It's hardly unique or special.
Agree this is not that special or unique. However, Rivian (or Rivian CS?) said at one point this would not be possible, and there would be no pass-through from the back seat to the gear tunnel. That seemed strange because the picture on their website of the car frame seemed to have a hole for this sort of pass through to the gear tunnel.

Am I correct in seeing it as two panels, or does it have more segments?
I'm pretty sure it just one panel that slides up to open and down to close.

No. The rear wall of the cab is there and solid, along with the tonneau cover storage.

Uh the gear tunnel is in front of that rear wall. Which means there’s nothing between the tunnel and rear seat which would prevent a pass through

What you say is true, but the comment in your quote was in response to a question of if there was a pass through all the way into the bed - where what crashmtb said is also true.

Uh I was replying to someone who asked if there was a passthrough from bed to cab. Not the gear tunnel, which is part of the cab.

The passthrough gate is made for us Scandinavians to give room for the cross country skiis. They are 8` to 10` long. We have that in most cars sold here.
