Reading through these responses, I’m wondering why so many are so cynical. As though everyone on this thread runs a superior logistics organization with perfect change management. Chill out everyone - it was an innocent and entirely valid question considering the news this month of it being opened up to us.
Thank you. We can't turn into arrogant know-it-alls. Sheesh ?

I'm not one who gets too bothered by forum responses (lots of unhappy etc. people out there) but it is interesting to observe how this forum has changed over time. As a relatively early reservation holder and pretty early R1S owner (took delivery in Sept 2022) I've been on this forum for a while so am pretty familiar with the delays etc. that we experienced along the way. However though one post does not a pattern make I do remember when I was more active on this forum (probably 2 years ago) one thing I observed was that the overall 'sentiment' was pretty civil/constructive. It's interesting to see how things change as more people join/participate and how the tone etc. tends to evolve to more of a 'Reddit/Facebook' type look. (Silly aggressive posts, baseless claims of expertise and so on) Unavoidable I guess, more people etc.

FWIW one of the reasons I asked this (in addition to the post that Rivian made) was that I was in the local service center recently dropping off my R1S for repairs and I believe (definitely not going to swear by it) that I saw a few Tesla adapters on one of the shelves there. Again could totally have been something else, just saw it in passing so wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone had gotten one yet.

I don't recall anything in the 2024.07 update saying Tesla Supercharger access is now in the in vehicle Nav. The App only shows MagicDock Superchargers. I havent' tried looking in the truck for Supercharger access.

Based on this rough investigation, it appears that Supercharger access is in neither the Nav nor trim planning feature...so it's logical to presume that the adapters aren't shipping yet either.

There's at least three threads on this forum asking about "adapters" when we haven't heard anything more than a tweet about this entire process. This is a big enough deal for Rivian that I'm sure there will be more marketing around it than just a simple tweet.

Ford owners haven't even started to get their adapters yet, and they are first on the list. The Ford backlog of adapter orders extends to something like September. The adapters are all coming from Tesla, so the Ford experience will guide you on what to expect.
Last I saw in the Mach-E forum is an October delivery:

Ford NACS Adapter with October Delivery

They are not in production yet, April is the earliest for production Ford adapters so I’ll update everyone on 4/1 about the upcoming MrBeast video where 456 Rivian Launch Edition owners compete for the first Rivian adapter off the production line, should be worth watching.

All jesting aside, I have two adapters scheduled for May for the Fords in the fleet, if Rivian is really late on adapters and Ford is on schedule I’ll have to figure out some sort of lending scheme since I would never use both at the same time.

I think we're cynical because of the dependencies on Tesla.

What Tesla ownership has taught me is "starting soon after" has absolutely no meaning. It could be 1 month or it could be never.

It's kinda funny how so many of us ran away from Tesla because of all the fakeness. The robot that didn't actually fold the laundry, the make believe autowipers, and the not full self driving.

But, we all know there is a very real thing at the heart of Tesla.

To OPs defense I would not be at all surprised if some folks randomly get a UPS shipment notification and an adapter shows up a few days later.... some people may not get them and others will get 2.

Just wait it's going to be a whole thing.

And wow, tough crowd...

I thought someone I work with said he was got an email saying to expect an adapter for his Lightning in August or September. I wouldn't be surprised if March was March 2025.

Take it easy on him guys. He is just not fluent in Rivian language. He’ll learn it sOOn enough
Unless bought secondhand or jumped the queue, everyone who has reserved and taken delivery should be intimately familiar and are jedi masters of patience. Of course, there are always some who sit in the backseat, asking incessantly, "are we there yet?", whether it's this, R1 refresh or Rivian's profitability. Same as your sentiment, these folks also need to be "adults".

I don’t disagree with you at all. A growing number of people do love to whine about anything and everything.

Something we should always remember is that all of us Rivian owners are part of the grand experiment as early adopters of new EV-only automakers who are disrupting the industry with first to market concepts/ideas in what is a VERY conservative/staid auto industry. Will they make mistakes, sometimes. Will they be perfect, no. But, will we be assured of cutting edge new tech and innovative/fearless test-and-learn… absolutely. I love 99% of my Rivian - more than any other car that I’ve owned and I don’t mind calling out the cynics when their perfect world order is unrealistic.

Cheers to adventure!!

This is the most information available from Rivian on the transition:

https://rivian.com/support/article/Why-is-Rivian-adopting-the-North-American-Charging-Standard

And the original announcement from the Rivian newsroom:
https://rivian.com/newsroom/article...ard-and-access-to-teslas-supercharger-network

Worth noting that we're not yet into "Spring 2024"

It's still less than halfway into March, so plenty of time to go.
