Its BONKERS how obsessed some people are getting against EVs.

The oil and gas industry is working hard against it, and frankly its working.
Like religious dogma. They get so triggered you’d think we’re the locus horde that is slowly spreading from Mongolia or the Persian empire.

I was kinda hoping I would hear you swearing some headlines.
Since I'm too lazy to do it myself
Rivian R1T R1S I swear headlines these days. 1712329623039-d6

I particularly like that it probably considers the usage of "Green" in the "against" as the foul language.

Pretty sure I have actually seen that particular headline.

Guys, there's a lot of people that do the math and it just doesn't add up. It's not a conspiracy, it's not fear of change.....it just doesn't make sense to them yet for a variety of reasons.

I still think things will change over time. Technology will improve, average prices will come down, infrastructure will get better. It's just going to take longer than some people predicted/expected.

The one thing I hear over and over again from the so-called "anti-EV crowd" is that they don't want anyone trying to force EVs on them. And that's been the sentiment for years now when all the legacy auto manufacturers starting saying that they were ending internal combustion engines by 2030, or 2035 or whatever deadline they claimed at the time.
Most of those people are not doing the math. If they did, we’d have a lot less people questioning how electricity works.

Similar to politics. I observe that these people tend to end their thinking as soon as they find evidence to support their bias. As if that point is where the membrane of their bubble resides, beyond which is the scary, made up world of reality.

I did the math and it didn't add up for me. Everyone has his/her own specific use case.

I’m 2 weeks in the EV life, the jokes are already getting old….

“oh you made it in today, I thought you forgot to plug in last night……”

“Do you want me to save these batteries for you so you can get home?”

“how long of an extension cord do you carry in that thing”

It amazes me how many don’t know Rivian: “who makes that?” Rivian “But who makes it? Is it a Toyota or something”

and this misinformation of an EV is incredible, I was one of them but I actually explored and listened and now a believer

That works both ways. I applaud the people who purchased and EV only then to realize that it wasn't the right choice for them and actually admit that.

most does not mean all

I will maintain my position. Your one example does not mean that most of the opposition isn’t just regurgitating talking points that put them against EVs.

I understand that....but you also have to realize that people have a choice when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. And since a vehicle purchase is such a big financial decision/commitment, then we have to understand that people will consider their options. Just how many of those people impulsively make that decision in a vacuum? I dont know and either do you. I think it's safe to say that the majority don't and instead will in fact do the math to determine what makes sense for their own use case.

The difference is those of us who find it make sense for us do not go out of our way, be in your face, to tell gassers how wrong they are. We aren't the ones going around keying unattended ICE cars. We don't go around sabotaging gas pumps. You also will not find us taking over gas stations and blocking all pumps out of spite. We mind our business and go about our lives.

False equivalencies... another typical and all too predictable tactic.
