This may be a silly question but thought I’d ask anyway. I’m low on fluid and have a gallon of Prestone All-Season, De-Icer/Bugwash 2-n-1.

Is there any guideline for using a particular fluid?

I've used Rain-X all-season fluid in other cars pre-Rivian.

My one reservation about Rain-X in the Rivian is that others think the Rivian windshield is more vulnerable to rock strikes, which may need prompt stabilization with a repair kit.

I've heard that the Rain-X water beading properties also keep windshield chip repair materials from sticking. My auto parts store's expert says that cleaning with denatured alcohol will remove the Rain-X residual and allow chip repair. I'm skeptical of that, and there's a lot of money and convenience at stake.

What are others' experiences and opinions?

Thanks in advance!

Always used Rain-X or similar rain repellants.

I’ve never had issues with chip repair.

Oh so timely! I have been using Rain-X for years. Because my Rivian’s washer fluid tank was pretty empty when I got it, I was not properly availed to the majesty of GC pink elixir.

so it is next on the list!

Currently, I'm using washer tablets that are about 10 cents per gallon. I'll explore the GC fluid once this 25 pack runs out.

$40 for shipping.... for fucks sake...

Huge margins here for someone to make their "clone" variant and uncut this product.
