Hi all, I tried to search around but couldn't really find any actual audio/video clips of the sounds that the car makes.

I've got it set to kneel mode so I hear this when I first get into the vehicle. I *think* this is probably normal but I just wanted to make sure this is just standard noises you all hear when the vehicle is changing ride hight?

(click audio on to hear sound).

thank in advance for any thoughts you might have on this

This noise as well as lots of clicking as the suspension is dynamically adjusting. Honestly, probably the most annoying part of the vehicle. I have had multiple vehicles with air suspension and the Rivian is the noisiest and least polished. I turned off kneel mode and keep mine in low to reduce the amount of suspension adjustment that takes place.

Thank you both for the reply. Exactly what I was looking to hear. I also hear the clicking too.

I do not hear this sound, but a lot of clicking with mine. And sometimes the compressor runs for a bit after shutting the truck off.

I may not be hearing this right, but I always thought this was the HVAC ramping down. It sure is a subtle noise, regardless. Mechanical things make mechanical noises.

That does not sound like the air suspension system to me. Usually all you'll hear from it is air purging during the kneel lowering phase and solenoids clicking open/close to move the air. Obviously the compressor running to fill the tank has its own unique noise.

I think the "spooling down" noise I hear in that video is either the HVAC compressor or the motor/pump used in the battery cooling loop.

Some reviewers online have commented about the noise from the air suspension, that it is noticeable and that it comes on frequently. Some surmise that perhaps the air cylinder (using right terms) is not big enough and thus forces the compressor to come on more often.
I myself am leery of having compressor come on and on so often (mechanical parts, longevity). Because of that, have not used kneel mode and have kept vehicle height fixed on Standard height, All Purpose mode since day one--Jan 2024. i rarely hear any suspension related noises.

I’ve also noticed that while the car is at a stop (in HOLD), if it makes adjustments to the air suspension, it makes a good bit of creaking. This is likely due to the brakes being automatically applied when at a stop. The slight variations of the lifting/dropping of front and back makes the brakes creak a bit.

my 2 cents.
