R1T 2023 vs 2024

I ordered my R1T in 2020, but because I live in Hawaii I was put on the back burner and on the bottom of the delivery list. I'm all of a sudden getting bombarded with sales promotions and promises for delivery within 1-6 weeks. Lot's of sales pressure! So are they trying to offload old inventory before the 2025 are announced? I feel like I'm getting squeezed to take the 2023 models off their hands. But after waiting for four years, I shouldn't have to settle for 2023 after waiting so long. I was one of the early reservation holders (and stock holder). How do I know I'm getting a 2024 model? And is there a difference between 2023 and 2024?

No difference between 2023 and 2024 besides the model year.

You should know which you have selected, there should be no confusion. 2023s are much cheaper at this point though.

We ordered our R1S in January and it was a 24. I’m sure anything you order now would be as well. I doubt they will say anything about the 2025 models at all but if they did it would be in November or December most likely.

Since you don’t seem to be in a hurry maybe wait to see if there’s anything different with the refresh? Seems most likely just cost cutting/ efficiency in manufacturing improvements but who knows…

Even models within the same year have slight variations - until Rivian does an official "refresh" of the model, it's best to just get what's available and what works for you economically.

Some things that have changed within a model year include: change in audio system, inclusion/exclusion of 12V accessory ports, availability of Powered Tonneau Cover, availability of Manual Tonneau Cover, configuration of optional packages, availability of specific color options, and some other things that aren't coming to mind right now but you get the general idea.

I only have until Sept 2024 to receive my 20% pre-launch pricing discount. They’re being very calculated about this and soon after Sept I expect 2025 will be announced.
