Again, the problem is not charging exclusively at Superchargers, that is your right. I took issue with your stated reason for doing so, to piss off other EV motorists. I find that very distasteful.

All the signage in the world can't fix people like Mr. Muscleshirt from voicing his hateful opinion that people shouldn't take up two spots. I just think it's juvenile and in poor spirit to go out of your way because you like triggering such people.

But carry on...
If I am following the rules then what does the reason I’m there matter? No one would know why I’m there other than to charge. Remember I’m not actually doing anything out of the ordinary, yet you somehow think it would be my fault if a Tesla owner had a meltdown while I was charging at a SC. I would only be doing what Elon and Tesla allowed me to do…

I don’t live my life avoiding doing what I need to do because there are people like Mr. Muscles out there. He is the problem and I could honestly give a crap what people like him think.

Any Tesla owner who is upset about seeing Fords and Rivians at their superchargers should either talk to their therapist, complain to Elon, or go to a SC station that is still exclusive to Tesla. Otherwise the rest of us will have to figure out how to get along until every station can accommodate every EV. Maybe Elon should have waited until that was the case to open up his network?

Why couldn't the Tesla's that arrived AFTER the OP drive to the EA or EVGO stations? Do Tesla's have to charge at Tesla charging stations?
Totally agree. Most Tesla cars can charge at CCS chargers. I was just asking if they had checked the EA app before driving further to a supercharger.

That's false. Most Tesla's cannot charge at CCS chargers, many are not enabled, and even though all newer Tesla are enabled, most Tesla don't have the required adapter (mostly because it wouldn't get used). My family currently has four Tesla and none of them can charge at a CCS charger.

Like I said most teslas can charge at CCS chargers. They just need to buy an adapter. Just like CCS EVs need to charge at superchargers.

Sigh...if you don't know why your distasteful motive is relevant, then you will NEVER get it.

True. But in the context of wondering why the later arriving Tesla couldn't just go to a CCS charger, it matters whether they have an adapter in the car. And three of four of my family's Tesla cannot charge at CCS chargers, even if we had adapters.

I'm just trying to be real here.

I can't take the look of the teslas, they are horrible....I will never own one ever, but I thank Elon for creating the ev market, before him was nothing and without him probably we would talk about how nice is the new prius 2024....... Then he created this giant charging network...... Kuddos to the guy, he can go full crazy, I'm still thank him and I hope many many more things to thanks him in the future, as the segment grows we will have many more options to charge without worries. For the ones that hate him, you are free to not use his company and be happy.

So am I. Very few CCS cars have NACS adapters. Much fewer than teslas the have CCS adapters. So it’s more likely that a Tesla can charge at a CCS charger than a non Tesla can charge at a supercharger.

My 8/2021 Tesla model Y cannot charge on CCS chargers even with an adapter. I would need to take it in service center and pay for a retrofit to enable CCS charging. Shortly after I bought mine, I believe about 10/2021 they started including the necessary hardware to charge on CCS with an adapter by default. I’m not sure about the other models.

I thought any Teslas made in 2020 and beyond are ccs compatible.

I'm not sure if this applies to the station in the OP, but many of the stations in my area have empty parking spots to the right of the charger bank. Tesla drivers would do everyone a favor if they left those end spots, and the spots with side-mounted dispensers, for people using NACS adapters.

Not exactly.
1. A Tesla 3/Y with a build date after approx. 10/2020 will most likely be able to support CCS. If CCS support is not enabled, a service center retrofit is required. Cost $200 - $350

2. A Tesla with a build date before this, if Model 3/Y, requires a service center retrofit. $350.

3. A Tesla Model S/X without CCS support requires a $450 service center retrofit.

I don't understand your pushback on this. The discussion is about a Rivian that HAD a NACS adapter wanting to use a Supercharger. The idea that a Tesla could just as easily use an Electrify America DC fast charger as a Rivian is false. Even if that Tesla was compatible with CCS networks, most owners don't have a CCS adapter (because they don't need it).

It makes no sense to start comparing the total number of Rivan with a NACS adapter because the situation under discussion only arises if the Rivian already has a NACS adapter.

Last month while Road tripping to TX for the eclipse, I got yelled at at two locations. I went to the SC by Sonic Burger in Cathedral City, CA with 8 chargers. Five were taken up when I arrived and there was no option to take the end one or handicap stall to only take up 1 stall. I ended up taking up two stalls to charge. The Teslas were pretty quick and cleared out and more came in. One guy pulled into the handicap stall and proceeded to chastise me for taking up two stalls. I was about to offer to stop my session and switch stalls with him but he could care less. He just muttered "Sucks for the next guy that has to wait."
The next night I was in Glendale, AZ and got to a 12 stall SC with only two other Teslas there. I parked in the handicap stall (I have disabled plates) which allowed me to not take up two stalls. While charging, a Tesla pulls up behind me and starts honking. I think nothing of it since there are 9 other open stalls. He backs in a couple of stalls over from me and proceeds to cuss me out. He went off how he was handicapped and uses a wheelchair and I was in HIS stall. He went off how I don't belong there and to go charge at my own station. I could have easily got out and plugged him in but after his rant I told him to take it up with Elon and that Ford and Rivian were already allowed to charge there and more companies were on their way. Second pic shows the handicap stall where I parked my Rivian the night before. You could see that the other guy had plenty of options to park and charge.

Again, all you would see is me following the rules at the SC and being friendly to anyone who talks to me, just like always. I’m very sorry that’s is “distatsteful“ to you… Maybe you should talk to someone?
